So if Symphony really winds up being the cut off point for VinnyVania I have a suggestion.

As an epilogue you guys should go back to the original, only this time the Castlevania Chronicles version of Castlevania 1. (Easily available on PSN) It all started with Simon vs Dracula, why not end it the same way? Only instead a prettied up remix version!

Also, while amazing, Symphony is the end point evolution over many iterations. It's so different from how the series started. It'd be cool to finish back at the beginning with just a jump and a whip.

The best game that I just kind of don't like.

It was fun if a little generic. I enjoyed it but I'm glad it was a one and done style change. The later games that iterate on 1-3 are just so good. They never would have happened had IV been the new direction.

Oh lord, this game. This game is so messed up. It's kind of important I suppose, it's good ideas do inform later better games but man. What were they thinking.

Makes me want to play Faxanadu. It's basically this but functional and not totally bat shit insane. Less esoteric but still cryptic in its own ways.

@arzen353: Yeah, its a pretty sharp left turn for Castlevania with Symphony. Great game but by no means challenging. It sort of makes up for that by being content dense instead. It's pretty impressive how deep it goes with entirely non-critical path material. As they progress however this style of 'Vannia definitely learns better difficultly balance. Portrait of Ruin and Ecclesia, the last two ones, are decently challenging.

Don't listen to Dan about the Salt sub weapon. It's crazy OP. Each little salt chunk has its own hit box and an active duration of a few seconds. So basically one use can hit an enemy like a dozen times in two seconds for crazy damage from a safe distance.

The bigger the enemy the more hits they'll take too. Used even kind of carefully it just murders guys.
