The archive is on twitch so you can watch it now.

Warning, I'm 2 hours in and the audio is terrible, their mics are all over the place (blown out, peaking) so it's really hard to watch. I doubt they can fix this so it will probably be bad on the site too.

Anyone else notice the highest resolution download file is now in 4K but still at the old 8000 bit rate? Is this because of the new video host/processor?

I know you don't record in 4K and already have issues with 1080p streams with some staff so this might be a glitch.

I'm all for 4K but it needs to be done right (100% 4K source, 15-20mbit minimum bitrate, etc.)

Thanks

Hey Guys, I know it's old but I'm re-watching all the TNTs and noticed this one's 3500 bitrate download is smaller than it should be so the video ends a few minutes in.

Don't suppose you have another copy you could re-upload?

Thanks

In terms of them wearing out, I wouldn't worry as that scales with capacity and a 512 or 1TB SSD is hard to wear out these days.

In terms of failure, these aren't cheap chinese nvme drives, these are from major companies so I would expect them to similar to the mid-high end of the consumer market. Especially, considering the PCIe Gen 4 NVMEs are pretty new on the market.

So overall I would say that SSDs are more reliable than a hard drive at this point.

I have no idea if the consoles monitor the wear level, spare sectors on these drives to notify you of issues or if it will just not let you write at some point.

...also I'm definitely gonna invest in a lot of external drives in the near future to start pulling down the video archives.

FYI, I have the majority of the videos archived (except the podcast videos and trailers) and it's around 21TB (highest resolution copy only). And when I was leeching them there was a 100 download a day limit but this might've changed in the 3 years since I backfilled.

I also had them in Plex when it supported plugins so it would pull down the meta data but I watch most videos at 2x these days so I can't use Plex. All my videos have the database/media id in the file name so Plex could hit the API for the data (i.e. mc_vinnyvania_09182020_8000.mp4 became 20684_mc_vinnyvania_09182020_8000.mp4)

There is a small icon in the middle of the bottom under the progress bar that will switch you back to the GB player but it is still auto playing the video, which I also never want. The GB player does have an overlay where you can download like before.
