If Alex is actually attempting to play through this like it is someone's first playthrough, than Alex should 100% go back and get Tali back. If this wasn't on camera, he'd go and do it anyway, so why pretend its different with an audience.
Plus Tali rules and has major impact on parts of ME3's story. But really, like many of us did in the past, go and save your friend.
Kvothe is one of the most Mary-Sue main characters I have come across, and his past characterization is absolutely abysmal. Hot-headed, young, full of great potential yawn city. The only reason I am still reading is because of what has been set-up in the frame story. I want to know what broke that asshole and why he is so dramatically different from the past form. It helps that the writing is candy for the mind. Rothfuss is a great writer and world-builder but man what a terrible character writer.
