This (along with his self-titled debut) is one my favorite albums ever. I was in college in Chicago when it came out and it became my soundtrack for long 3AM walks home from parties that ended up being not-so-fun. Archangel is rightly the standout song, but the whole album is near perfect.
It's kind of a shame he hasn't released a full length LP since, but the EPs are really good.
Also, adding a shout out to the documentaries of Adam Curtis: he frequently uses Burial in his films about our confusing modern existence.
What a weird thread to resurrect after 10 years...
That being said, I started looking at reddit once I got an office job 5 years ago, but don't have an account. I'll look at a specific game's subreddit if I'm playing it a lot (like Elden Ring or Rimworld) but generally just look at popular.
Been listening to this album since it came out (when i was in high school). Quite a few of these Pitchfork bands I've stopped listening to over the years, but I keep coming back to this album. I love the combo of sad indie and noise/shoegaze. Also gets my vote for best use of accordian this side of Weird Al.
@tempa777: Try the Cane and Rinse podcast. Each episode is usually around 2 hours and focuses on a single game. They typically do get around to covering entire series over the course of many episodes.
The episodes typically start with a bit about the history of the devs and production of the game, then talk about release, sales, and reviews, and then the hosts discuss their personal history with the game and lightly critique it.
Hey all, I'm really behind on the bombcasts so this is probably answered in at least one of those, but:
Is the GB crew doing the after hours talk panels with industry guests that they have done the last several years? I haven't seen a schedule on the front page or anything and that's my favorite part of e3.
So I was buying all the drinks from the vending machines for the achievement, when I noticed a drink called oh shiruko. I thought that sounded familiar and then remembered aum shinrikyo.
If you don't know who they are, they were the Japanese cult responsible for the Tokyo subway sarin gas attack in the 1990s.
I'm not sure what the name of the drink is in the Japanese version, but I thought it was weird to make a pun on the worst terrorist attack in Japan in recent history.
I googled "persona 5 oh shiruko aum shinrikyo" and found nothing, and just felt I had to say it somewhere.
