Vinny and Brad playing together. Especially Astroneer. It seems like just when Brad is getting the most excited, Vinny ends the stream haha

I use the most up to date version of the official Giant Bomb app on my Apple TV and it doesn't work correctly. If you put the cursor over the icon to launch it, the upper shelf area on the homescreen doesn't ever reload. Inside, many show arts are missing and also episode arts are missing inside the latest category.

The ESA Has put out a blog post talking more about E3 2020:

https://www.theesa.com/statements/e3-2020-a-sneak-peek-at-the-year-ahead

We’d like to cut right to the chase.

We’ve listened to the feedback of our media partners, attendees and the industry at large. We are committed to keeping E3 at the level you’ve come to expect.

You’ll be happy to know that we’re not producing E3 2020 in a vacuum. For E3 2020, we’re collaborating with industry insiders and new creative partners, including the tastemakers at iam8bit, to reinvigorate the show and, frankly, to shake things up.

We are well down the path on the development and production of a large, super fun floor experience that celebrates gaming culture in exciting new ways.

Without revealing too much right now, here’s a taste:

We will be showcasing E3 to the world through new streaming and digital programming while creating gatherings on the show floor that let people do what they love the most… play and celebrate games.

We’ll have surprise guests, amazing stage experiences, access to insiders and experiential zones that delight the senses. It will be incredibly inclusive, celebrating all aspects of our industry.

Over the next few weeks – and continuing all the way to E3 – we will be revealing more details and will continue to listen and learn. In fact, if you have an idea that you’d like to see come to life at E3, please send it to suggestions@e3expo.com, and we’ll see if we can make it happen. No idea is too large or too small; we want to hear from you.

You should also know that we’ve upgraded our media registration process, which received a lot of attention this past summer. Earning back your trust and support is our top priority.

That’s why we rebuilt the E3 website with enhanced and layered security measures developed by an outside cybersecurity firm. This included updating our data management processes, including the handling of personally identifiable information, and we will no longer store that data on our site. We have also changed our registration practices and will collect the minimum information necessary to complete your registration.

E3 2020 will be a new and revitalized experience for everyone – the many exhibitors committed to the show, the members of the media who have supported us for so many years, and the fans and community that are the heart and soul of video games.

Finally, in case you’re wondering, E3 registration will start on February 15th. We’ll have more information on the process in the coming days.

What do you guys think? Ready for some Queuetainment?

I thought Jeff had basically said that days 1-3 were for them? I mean, isn't the whole thing just "here's an inside look at how we came to our GOTY decision?"

This was originally the case. The podcasts were a very cool behind-the-scenes of how they came to their decisions - the main content being the written articles/videos with winners and such. Then along the way people enjoyed the podcast as much as the written content.

Only recently did GB decide to just drop the written articles. Which sucks Because now you don’t have a Nice little winners recap, you can’t see the winners and go listen to how they got there (I loved doing that before), there’s no fun little summaries, etc. I understand dropping written reviews, and even the GOTY recap videos, but I don’t get dropping the written GOTY articles. Hell, I bet Marino or a mod or someone would be willing to write them. I’ll do it for free just to have them on the site again.

Please please please please add the ability to add individual videos to a watch list. That would be the best!

Creature in the well! It’s so different and fun with a clever story. It’s on the shorter side, but it’s worth it.

If you have game pass its on there too!

I really hope that Jeff and team look at this thread and take it to heart. Everyone in this thread loves GB - that’s why we’re all so passionate.

Please consider bringing back the written daily summaries, silly categories (especially hottest mess), playing games together in festive attire, and anything else you all think would be fun.

Not having the hottest mess category is the biggest mess of all!

I think the reason that this year’s format feels more flat than previous is because it’s a discussion of all games, regardless of passion from the crew.

Having categories for awards means that all the games discussed, even the “let me have my say” ones, comes from a place of passion by at least one person. So they’re already starting from a shorter, more focused list with games that folks want to talk about.

I also think the silly categories are important because they offer levity as well as parts of games that might get missed. They’re also argued from a place of positivity. Think of one such as “best shopkeeper”. That’s a fun category to talk through, with only games that they like and the discussion errs on the side of “this shopkeeper was best cause...” rather than “your shopkeeper is worse because...”

To me, categories have to come back as the main format. I would love to see the return of the written articles with summary of the day. I think by including more fun categories, keeping lists tighter, and remembering that it’s all for fun would make it doable.

Some other suggestions I’ve seen sound good too such as recording the podcasts over Skype and recording audio from both East/west and merging together at the end so they can be remote the first week, then meeting the second so all they do is have fun together.

...Also my fav part was also the team videos with christmas decorations up. This year it just seems so bare bones. I know they wanted to cut it down for 1 week but then they should of done some christmas specials building up to their holidays.

its gone from this to this:

This is the part I have the hardest time understanding. They specifically made filler podcasts so they would have more time devoted to the GOTY week for recording videos/podcasts and there's such a drop in quality this year. Put aside the content for a second, but there are at least 4 people on staff who are wizards of audio/video and this year's main group video is poorly lit and has terrible audio. Not to mention no holiday theming on any of them (group or solo). If they're going to trim the amount of content, at least make it look and sound its best!

Remember when they would make custom landing pages? or write articles? or do skits? or wear Christmas sweaters? or decorate the office? We do!
