@humanity: Ahhh that's so cool, reminds me of the ttRPG Apocalypse World's "recipe" for sriracha popcorn--aPOPalypse corn.

Also, my edit was based on a very-cursory and extremely-accurate wikipedia glance...there are a number of omissions/position changes for the credits there. Weird.

It's totally fair for Ben not to wanna play it; there doesn't need to be any affecting reason for the switch if it makes him uncomfortable.

That said, this reminds me of the ambivalence towards games made via extreme crunch: other people worked on/wrote for the game (Fallout 2 in this case) and they don't deserve for the cool stuff they made to be so fully tarnished by bad people or circumstances surrounding them.

The ideal scenario here would I guess be to find out who else wrote for Fallout 2 and try to learn a bit about who else contributed to its narrative vision...but that's asking a lot for a casual, unproduced stream.

*Edit* Didn't know he was full on game director, not just lead narrative or writer. Hm.

Morrowind for sure. I remember my friends at school trying to describe it to me; as someone that mostly plaued racing games and Civ as a kid, the concept of an RPG with such ambitious scale and variety was frankly unbelievable. Had to go to their house to see it with my own eyes.

@kyniro: Oh god, the worst part isn't even the enemy Winter Lanterns: it's that mother brain in the Nightmare of Mensis, waiting in the dark after you drop it from its perch.

The way the lighting just slowly reveals it is absolutely disgusting; the fact that it gazes at you instead of attacking multiplies that ten-fold.

I did my first playthrough of ff7 for the same reasons as you on the same platform.

- I never used the instant heal/limit break, seemed excessive.

- I used deactivated random encounters rarely, when I just wanted to see the next story bit.

- I used the speed boost semi-often, maybe a quarter of the time, during tedious bits or to backtrack.

All in all, I'd say my playthrough was probably 28-32 hours, doing a moderate amount of side content like chocobo breeding and stuff. If I was in a bigger hurry, it probably would've taken 25.

I'm playing Indivisible, FF Tactics, and Heat Signature right now. So...0%. I try not to play stuff at full price these days.

I put RE VILLAGE but that's just cause I'm almost certain I'll love it. In reality there's a *ton* of exciting stuff in there. Spiderman, Deathloop, Hitman, Kena, Solar Ash...

I'd keep going but honestly I'd list more than half of the games they showed as "Extremely Exciting." Really glad to see a good show like this without E3 to push it.

I think I used to date people for bad reasons--the feeling that it's bad to be single, loneliness, etc. As someone similarly thinking about dating again and reflecting on what I'm actually looking for:

- Creative drive, someone that might cook a new thing without a recipe or improv with an instrument. Actually being good at stuff isn't remotely as important wanting to try.

- First instinct isn't to judge. I dated someone that, even if they weren't mean to me, would often criticize friends and family behind their backs. It was...uncomfortable. If you're not gonna give people the benefit of the doubt, it's eventually gonna become a problem.

I think the reason they started with the cool "follow the wind" GPS is because that's the only notable thing Ghost of Tsushima's got going for it. Not to bash too hard based on one video, but something tells me if it wasn't for the cool setting we'd be calling this another Days Gone.

Pretty much same story here:

  • Love XCOM
  • Was already curious about Gears Tactics, now excited that media impressions are positive
  • Have GamePass

In my situation downloading it's a total no-brainer. I've also been playing XCOM Chimera Squad (also good), but it crashed and corrupted the wifi drivers on a friend's PC, so I'm gonna play Gears until XCOM is stable. No idea why such a small game would run so suboptimally, but XCOM 2 didn't run great either so it's not too surprising.
