I appreciated the Oldboy homage with the bat throw at the end, nice touch.

That was super menacing and I loved it. Seeing a serious, mean-ass, gritty Godzilla film would make me pretty happy, provided they strike the right tone. I mean, it is still about a giant lizard monster stomping on stuff.

@fourwude: @artisanbreads: I am curious as to what you recommend (either comics or novels) to get started in the Conan Universe. Any suggestions?

The Dark Horse Conan series is great, a lot of fun and it has really killer art, which really brings some of the adaptations to life. Marvel's Savage Sword of Conan is also amazing, really great, pulpy, black and white reads with awesome art and a great sense for adapting the original stories. Both have been collected into trade paperbacks almost in their entirety, I believe, and are pretty lengthy, like, Savage Sword is over 200 issues long. The original stories by Robert E. Howard are fantastic reads and the best place to start. I haven't read much of any the other novels or short stories written by anybody other than REH, though.

Nathan Drake, because he's a slightly sassier Indiana Jones and I'm a big fan of Indiana Jones.

StarFox 64, I think. That was some pretty cool stuff to me at the time, and many of the lines are embedded in my brain.

Chills every time. Retro knocked it out of the park with the Metroid Prime soundtracks, damn.

Good on 'em.

For wearing the skirts or for getting in trouble?

For wearing skirts. I'm an irrational fan of anything that rails against authority in schools.

This is surreal and heartbreaking. Ryan Davis, through his work, has made many bad days into good ones with hilarious, informative, entertaining and heartwarming writing and hosting and even though I never met him face to face, never knew him, I'm gonna miss him. My condolences to the giantbomb crew and his family. Rest in peace.
