Yeah its no coincidence that most of our major achievements seem to happen during the night time hours.

Its a weird situation where a loss in popularity will actually aid progress, which will in turn raise popularity again. Not that there's any sign of that yet. There were barely 1K viewers when I started watching 3 days ago, which seemed a lot then. 100K by the end of the week would not surprise me at this point.

Thought I'd just check in to see how the sister stream is doing in Pokemon Blue. They actually seem to have pulled level despite starting later. Had to leave pretty sharpish though. Those heathens worship the dreaded Dome Fossil. *Shudder*

I think we're now in the dark middle chapter of the run.

Jay Leno and the hero of Vermillion, Abbey are gone, as are the blessed moonstone and our one guiding light the Helix Fossil.

We have allowed the dangerous false prophet Flareon into our midsts. No one can agree on where to go. And we now have to navigate through an intricate maze in the Team Rocket base with the ever looming threat of a pokemon that knows dig and an escape rope. And thats if we can even get into the place again.

We must stay strong and trust in the will of the temporarily misplaced Helix.

Whatever its creator intended when they made it, this bizarre thing has developed into something really rather special. You can watch it for an hour and see nothing but Red spinning on the spot, opening and closing the menu. And yet I find myself there repeatedly throughout the day following along with all the triumphs and the disasters. Its entrancing. And thats before you even get into all the crazy memes, fan art and coordinated strategies being posted on reddit, etc. In a weird, internet-y sort of way, history is being made.

Played it for the first time last night. Here are my thoughts summarised thus far:

Fuck ghosts. That is all.

No major surprises really.

Hopefully Nintendo come round and give permission for melee. They probably will. No Tekken or 3d games for the first time since 2002 but can't say I'm a fan of watching those. Sucks for those players though.

Kinda disappointed in the lack of another charity drive. I understood the justification but it was really hype last year and would still have raised a lot of money again. Ah well I can sleep now.

In the 2d images everyone looks mostly fine, bar Knuckles. In the actual video everyone looks kinda godawful. And the music choice just immediately made me start laughing. So used to hearing it used for parodies at this point.

Still, there have been worse redesigns. Spyro for example.

Yay for PSN sales. Count me in I guess.
