Either a movie would be nice but then I was just thinking.

Halo based around ODST guys...

Halo + Battlestar Galactica  (modern) + Space above and beyond.

Take the best aspects and style like this trailer and that of the games and I think you would have a winning sci fi series.

@bwooduhs: I dont. I have 11mb down.
Just distance of some site in the EU etc you get naff down rates but you only have the one pipe to oz and then out again.

AS for games..

When I first got here 2 xmas's ago I saw games listed as $100 for new releases for most consoles and PC.
Now new releases are $130, $140. They went up for no reason. it is stupid

Tv's are ok price
Headphones are a rip off thought, £30 ones off amazon in the UK are like $140 here when they should be no more then $70.

Cheers. NZ + Summer Awesome. Better then England by a mile but I am getting that time where I have a few hours to kill now and again and its perfect to get back into my gaming. Just the prices nark me off. No reason for the price hikes either.

Hey All
Ok, so I have been in New Zealand for nearly 2 years now (moved from the UK) , Living 5 minutes from the beach is awesome, with another Summer Xmas coming up I can not wait.

Funds have been tied up towards costs sorting getting settled and now I am getting settled and I want to buy more games.
Picked up the odd one from stores but I normally order online in the UK and save some cash.

Anyone New Zealand folk care to share what online stores they buy their games/hardware from? Would be handy :)
Defiantly looking at MW2, and I need a wireless 360 network adapter, bloody expensive in the stores. Some of the new games for that matter (WTF)

Anyone in Auckland want to meet up as well, let me know :)

@get2sammyb Your totally right, he is there to hype the thing up to get it to sell and of course he is chuffed with it too.
But those points I picked up on are blatant peaces of bulcrap which will never wash with who the video is targeting.  It just annoys me those bits even came out of his mouth.
Ok, so PS3 they want 10 years. Most likely wont but ok, if you say that - fair enough. BUT he did not, he informs us that they have a consistent 10 year cycle which all the way through the whole of Sony it is just total bull crap.
I just hate lies like that, We know hes talking out of his backside, He know's he is , so why say these things? lol
It is not even over hyping something, its just crap.

It is like MS when they have something leaked and the lie lie lie, not even a "no comment" they will say "not true",  "Nope not happening" and of course most of the time it ends up to be true. Again, saying No comment or dodge the answer - fair enough, it is leaked news and you have things in place to announce things when you want to. To deny them when you know they are true is a lie and that is one of the things that just narks me off the most.

@PeasForFees: Not really Nerd Rage, I just hate people talk bollux. He fully well knows what he is saying is not true so he shouldn't.
It is a good console, Not the best has its flaws, so do the others so you can not claim it to be the greatest. When your previous console is statistically better in most areas of users, sales, games etc when you say that it is even worse!
The whole "our consistent 10 year cycle" and labeleing it for all products again is a load of rubbish. Yeah fine if they are aiming to do that for the PS3 (of which We all kind of know they probably wont, if the market picks up next year, new consoles will follow etc) np with that, but I mean come on, that is again just rubbish.

Not my style, but very cool that they can reduce the power and size like they have, good stuff. Price cuts - good stuff, about time, but you do not need the crap on top hey.

Watch the announcement Video.

What a load of bullcrap that guy talks about.

SIng and rave about your new machine but for people with a brain the stuff he says just winds me up.

When he claims "worlds greatest gaming console" That annoyed me right off the bat. If you want to get technical it is not the most powerful in all areas, not the best selling, not got the best selling games...

Well, Not a find, I have used it for years. Just it is for my sort of circles and Just thought I would  share on here. Was about I got around to posting. I would love to post more on here and do more wiki things etc. Just never have the time.

GiantBomb Does not work due to the time it has been alive and the domain hosting and indexing etc.
It was in a sense two parts on Jeff's and Ryan's sites which then led to a wordpress site and to what you have today and one year old. I have an account with the site so have requested the indexing etc so it will start showing up soon :)

You should see things like CNN (who were slow on the old webble stuff really) , BBC etc.

Youtube always interests me, their red logo but the use of the blue all the time ever since it launched.

Some of you may know about this site. As a developer/designer it is a great source of perspective and great to show clients who come to you and ask for the next youtube and only want to pay what it costs to buy a nice rug just what they are asking.
Anyway, This site basically shows you what site looked like a month ago, a year ago... all the way bac
http://web.archive.org/web/20020604065507/gamespot.com/gamespot/filters/0,10850,6013548,00.html

k to when it can find reference of it on the web and will show you just how it looked.

Gamespots first showing on the web:

|
 http://web.archive.org/web/19990421175410/http://gamespot.com/

A lot of people do not know the youtube story or just how long it took to get noticed and what the people behind it went through.

Here is youtubes first real public showing:
 http://web.archive.org/web/20050428014715/http://www.youtube.com/
The domain and development was started much earlier as well.

Facebook:
Interesting story, Again, something I have used to show clients who have asked the company I work for to build a facebook for bugger all money..

Facebook started as  aboutface.com  Which was for organisations and aiming to be one of the first web app applications - Company directory. A bit like companies using something like Highrise today. The concept was actually ahead of its time in many respects  back in 1998.

 http://web.archive.org/web/19981212013921/http://facebook.com/

it progressed.
 http://web.archive.org/web/20020330205744/site.aboutface.com/

It was not until 2005 when the guys changed tact and started to head toward facebook. Same as before but aimed at colleges and called Thefacebook.

http://web.archive.org/web/20050806011211/http://facebook.com/

2006/2007 they just built on it, and built on it.

Try it out on other big sites, you will be surprised by the dates and just how far they came. Also re-iterates the point - Rome was not built in a day.
