@dick_mohawk: Welcome to 2016, nobody voice chats in public. After people got annoyed with kids yelling a bit too much or people just blasting music in a low bitrate VOIP channel, people gave up.

@hmoney001: I was rooting for Reynald in GF. When you go against Xiaohai who is a living legend, I wouldn't be surprised if he felt that was one of the hardest fights even when he knocked him to losers. With the upcoming patch, I wonder what Reynald will be playing next after the patch. He is pretty versatile and will try to find the characters that got buffed well.

@ford_dent: Ignoring Nakoruru, I would say someone who can really pull it off with meter. Someone like Robert or Mai are good options since they can still do well without meter but if you do, you can easily get good damage with just two bars. You can have King on point to harass with fireballs and gain meter. Alice isn't too bad especially with meter but her confirms are not the best at least when I tried her. I would replace Alice but if you can put some leeway with her, then keep her.

@arbitrarywater: Have you consulted with other people of similar or higher skill level to see what's lacking in your playstyle? That's something I see a bit more often when newer players have trouble dissecting what their problems are. Resources are aplenty and people are not all bad when talking about relevant things. They probably wont change you immediately but they should give you a mindset to understand a bit clearly.

I am the pot monster in fighting games. I don't progress in a tournament as much as better players. I still however enjoy it a lot and accept my losses because it's part of it. I am willing to learn the mistakes or the things I don't see in my play and willing to improve for future endeavors. For me there is fun in that since it's part of the journey to win more and lose less. I will add is that fighting games is my first genre to really make me think deeper so I find it more appealing to me. It might not be the same for others though which is understandable.

I assume he plays most of Cave's library so I can't suggest anything except getting an actual board of something like Deathsmiles or Espgaluda.

If he is playing some of them on 360, I recommend getting him a CRT professional video monitor and making sure it can output through component or VGA. Those Cave ports were designed to work really well with PVMs.

@zurv: Heh. Apparently this is the first BF to add Arabic as well. I am really curious on how it sounds.

What's really interesting is that not all combat dialogue, at least in my playthrough in Japanese, are fully localized. Some soldier lines still speak normal English which makes a weird disconnect. While the guys in the tank are all properly talking in Japanese, I can hear an obvious "For King and Country" line.

I am playing it on Japanese language and expecting anime weeabooness, much like in Battlefield 4 and Hardline, only to end up feeling grim about it at least for what's available now.

Oh, absolutely. Their live shows are a huge mishmash of everything. I think they only played like 4 new songs, but the past few tours I've seen them play stuff from every album. Their live presence is absolutely a metal show, and even the newer stuff feels heavier with the distortion cranked up. Here's the set list from my show.

There was a 15 minute "Opeth doing shitty covers of Opeth" section where people were just shouting out requests, songs they haven't played in a while so you got snippets/teases of even more (guessing a few of the guys NEVER played them). Mikael trying to figure out 20 year old songs poorly in the wrong tuning was incredible. Nice clean version of Bleak hung around for a minute, so good.

I know it's an obvious question that people ask but how is Mikael's growl nowadays? Surely it's not the same but does it sound like he is struggling? The setlist though looks nice. Interesting choice to have Deliverance as the encore song.

As for shows around me, there is California Deathfest this weekend. I wish I could attend Friday because it will have Brujeria, Capitalist Casualties, Black Breath and Agoraphobic Nosebleed. There is also Aftershock Festival at Sacramento which has a decent list of big bands but damn the ticket prices are high.

I have not been eyeing on Gears 4 for a while because of other interests and real life. While I did play the beta for a small bit, I have been keeping myself reserved until it comes out. I might come in a bit late at this point but hopefully it's gonna be good.

Towards the later life of the original Xbox, Official Xbox Magazine released an issue with Tom Clancy's Rainbow Six 3: Black Arrow as an online demo. A lot of people who had Xbox Live were swarming on this demo because the full game was probably many months away from release. Since it wasn't using the common matchmaking system nowadays, people just join games and would last for hours. It would go to the point that people sort of know each other. After normal games, a lot of us would just get bored and do stupid games such as hide and seek, how far a sniper rifle can go through multiple heads and ragdoll suicides.

Like the demo, and to an extent the full game, was more than a year before Halo 2 came out so both were crack on Xbox Live.

Probably my original copy of Metal Gear Solid 2 and The Document of Metal Gear Solid 2.
