great heart
the most shockingly well put together game of the year
one of the best things I've played
production values are insane, art is stunning, variety is constantly fresh
music slaps
the little open world hub areas are great
controls a lot better than 1
the writing and character work is so phenomenal. It is super funny all the way through while also dealing with difficult subject matter in an extremely classy and enjoyable manner
a game about healing and bettering yourself and others is the perfect thing for 2021
i can't believe it's 20+ hours at the quality level it is
it's Microsoft's best game since I don't even know and also congrats to Microsoft for publishing the GOTY for the first time since we started doing this
only imperfect thing is the power swapping

the freshest game of the year
fantastic gameplay
incredible sound design
intriguing world and story
making their bullet hell 2D stuff into a third person shooter worked so well
best boss fights in years, hyperion especially
dualsense stuff is great
story stuff is a let down and that plus a slight lack of variety in gameplay later on are the only things that stop it from being #1

the king of schlock for this year, it's so unbelievably stupid
outside of the segment in the first hour where you are in the village I had an amazing time from start to finish
the castle segement was great, the PT segment was amazing, the fish monster segment was real dumb, the weird terminator factory was great, the dumb MW2 section at the end was dumb
it's so dumb
enviornmental variety is so much better than 7
enemy variety is way better
production values are incredible
gives you that Resident Evil loop three or four times in smaller environments which I loved
much more of an action game than horror which I was into
-
great heart
feel good, fun animated family movie from start to finish
incredible tech/visuals, gameplay feels so much better than it ever has
has that comfy nostalgic, PS2-era vibe to it
Rivet and Kit are great
writing and character stuff is really well done
left me ready to immediately play another one of them
maybe a tad disappointing that it's extremely just another Ratchet game
-
shockingly good and high production, it's so much better than A Way Out
controls feel fantastic
endless creativity
no segment overstays its welcome
personality is very weird as is the story but i liked how odd it all was
peaked early with the bee segment but it holds up to the end
elephant scene
-
great heart
the perfect thing for the end of the year for me, a very fun, very linear popcorn action adventure
the writing and character work is way better than I ever expected
best surprise of the year, I had utterly rock bottom expectations
does more with the characters than the movie, ties the main plot into the interpersonal stuff nicely
cosmo is the best
visuals are amazing, soundtrack is good
combat is very basic and dull
overstays its welcome by an hour or two
-
DLC
first 5 hours were incredible, last 5 hours were incredible
loved the more sinister, dreadful vibes a lot of it has
the entire first couple hours are some of the best opening hours of anything, ever
the stranger is amazing
middle section was not very fun for me, puzzle stuff that was obtuse to me and the stealth stuff
if I was playing it as part of the main game and able to walk away from it to other places it wouldn't have been as much of a problem
-
great world, great visuals, great music, good writing, extremely mechanically deep
will probably be my go to card game for the next long while whenever I have the itch
only card game since thronebreaker to hook me
-
amazing story that somehow manages to provide crazy twists that recontextualize the whole thing *EVERY HOUR OR SO*, it's a delightfully complicated story
manages to be comprehendible despite the complexity and variance/modularity in how you uncover it
gameplay is almost nonexistent
-
wonderful heart and writing, playing it last year and finishing it after coming home worked really nicely
great visuals and music and vibe, especially that its quiet and leaves me alone
jank as hell holds it down
