I just beat P3P today. I think it's the best version of the game, even if the "visual novel" style is a bit gimped when it comes to the cutscenes. Being able to control party members and the tons of new content (as well as FEmC, which I liked better than the dude-bro MC) really makes it the superior version in my mind.

Also, I didn't realize it until I replayed it (I've already beaten FES twice), but the story in this game is kind of...profound. Without spoilers, it delves very deep into concepts such as what it means to live and die (and the dealing with the inevitability of death) that few games touch, even games like P4.

Anyway, it's a great game. FES or P3P is the way to roll it. Just not the FES version you download off PSN; that thing's borked.

@ltsquigs: I never gave half points, and honestly I'm super glad that we got rid of them. I personally only gave one review a half point (God of War 3, I believe) and it hurt my soul to do so. I'm really pleased with this change.

Anyway, thanks for looking into it. As you can probably guess I'm a big fan of writing reviews (and posting 'em here) so I'd like to keep doing it and hopefully contributing to the community!

Also, when posting user reviews, I'm no longer able to post images I have hosted on a different site already (I format all my reviews in Blogger, complete with images, while I write them, and before I could just paste the whole thing with images over), but now when I paste it into the rich text editor it doesn't pull my images over from my copy/paste. Is this intentional? Having to re-add image tags in image-heavy reviews (such as this Corpse Party one I'm reposting) every time doesn't sound pleasant.

On my profile, it has a new feature under reviews that tallies up all my scores (1 - 5) I've given for each score for each review, which is great as it shows the spread.

However it only seems to be gathering data for 44 of my 264 reviews. I don't know if it's because the databases haven't pulled everything over yet or what, but all the reviews themselves seem to be there (except the one I wrote yesterday for Corpse Party, but luckily I back all my work up), it's just not compiling the data.

In other news, User Reviews don't seem to be showing up on game pages. For example, I checked my Blades of Steel review by clicking directly on it from my profile, but if I pull up the game and click "reviews" nothing seems to come up under "User Reviews."

I'll assume some data is still being pulled over, but it looks like it should all be there, it's just not tying in.

Hope this was helpful!

This looks weirdly awesome. But until you can actually play with the toys NOT on the portal, I think I'll hold out. Maybe. Until my wife finds out about this.

I love Paul Robertson! Make the persona 4 cast and I'll buy them.

He hasn't done sprites for P4, unfortunately. I've seriously considered trying to emulate his style and make the crew, however. Yeah, it kills me too. Somebody here has got to know him; they should request he make P4 sprites. :P

Long time, no Perler. After a long hiatus, I returned to the world of perlers (I've actually been making stuff, but this is the most significant update in recent years) to make the characters from one of my favorite JRPGs: Persona 3.

But you might wonder: how does one perler a PS2 sprite based game? Easy, find somebody who made fan sprites. Especially if that person is Paul Robertson, the guy who made the sprites for the Scott Pilgrim video game adaptation.

The whole crew, chibi-ized and pixelated

Now, it's worth pointing out that these things are pretty big, about a foot tall each were I to make them, and took several hundreds beads each. They also use a lot more colors than there are perlers, but luckily Perler introduced a bunch of new colors recently (specifically grays) that helped with the shading. Still, it took a lot of tweaking in order to get everything to work.

Startin' out with the protag.

Our sullen, emo protag. Or, in my guy's case, a dude who talked back to everybody.

Fuuka and Protag

Of course we do Fuuka next. She's the best lady of them all, duh.

The rest of the main crew. Yukari, Akihiko, and Mitsuru. I liked how the hair turned out in particular.

So there isn't much more progress ones from here, because I kind of just did 'em all. But here's the grand finale.

The whole shebang, except Shinji, who I made after. Game for size reference.

Pretty rad, right? Aegis' hair was hell, as was Koro's fur color. In the end, however, I like how they turned out.

Me, posing. Yes, I cut my hair. It's a tragic thing.

And lastly, the whole batch on the walls.

All hangin' out on the walls.

These guys, again, are way bigger than you probably think. At least four feet from bottom to top, so they cover the wall pretty well. Now nobody will ever go to the bathroom (the room to the right) because evil-Igor is staring ya down. That's it from this time, but who knows what else I'll do next? I did Sonic and didn't take pictures. Keep an eye out!

I have a review blog I guess. If you want you can go there. Whateves, duders. :D

Deal is still live, for those wondering, and it worked fine with no hitches for me.

Might have to bookmark that site for the future...getting a new release game for $20 on PC? I love PC gaming.

I thought LoS was a gorgeous game marred by it's awful pacing. The combat wasn't anything exceptional but it was serviceable, and the game had plenty of fun bosses (even the SotC knockoffs).

My biggest issue is (and this sounds weird since we gamers like to equate "time spent" with "value") the game was way the hell too long. There's a refined, fantastic 5-6 hour game somewhere in that 15-20 hour slog, but it takes almost until the second half that the combat opens up, the story hits full force, and the game gets really fun.

I had a blast the final 3-4 chapters and was bored to tears the first however many there are. I think if the sequel is shorter and tighter it could be an ample God of War competitor. This is a game for patient people which, frankly, most of the core Bombcrew are not when it comes to games. I could see Vinney and Drew enjoying this game after sinking time into it. I could NEVER see Jeff playing past the first few chapters.

I think that's why, and then they take a dump all over it because it's funny? I don't know the hate for it on-air, especially when they clearly dont' understand it. I mean, it isn't groundbreaking or anything, but it's far from bad.

@patrickklepek

Play corpse party.

Everything you want in one convenient package. Visual novel, tons of horror.

The adventure game elements are pretty much the worst, though, so be warned. But that really seems like a game that's right up your ally.

Now I need to check these two out...
