I went and saw it at a premiere event which got me a code for WoW and free 30 days. Even just that was definitely worth it.

Overall, the movie to me as a non-Warcraft fan was a pile of bad dialogue, shallow characters and even shallower motivations, fan service moments that felt like pandering and really, at the end of the day, really cheesy. The special FX are great but because I had no attachment to any of the characters, it all felt hollow, like I was watching the world's priciest CGI tech demo. The end came abruptly, nothing was really explained and the movie just ended after a climax, with a larger war coming and yet no sequel announced. It was definitely watch-able but if it didn't have the Warcraft name, this would've been panned by everyone.

While watching it, I kept having one single though: They wasted some of the best 3D FX on a shitty script.

@lilman1101: Yup, Quiet is great. The fact that she goes from wanting revenge, suffering for the greater good to sacrificing herself for someone she has all reason in the world to hate pretty much without saying a word is just great writing.

The Bloody Baron is also fantastic for making you both hate and pity him at the same time. He has real, tangible depth and is a great representation of the typical family-busting alcoholic that is all too common in eastern/southeastern Europe.

I think it was really shitty that Giant Bomb didn't publish an article on the brokenness of the launch. Meanwhile, Unity's shitty launch was milked for so many articles.

So if I want to become a games writer, I shouldn't get a degree in writing, nor should I write anything in a book form. Instead, I should just write a blog and know how to network around the industry, got it.

If MGS1's main theme was Gene, and MGS2's was Meme, MGS5's is Kiefer Sutherland. He wants to explore the depths of using his voice for different characters, how to efficiently use him as an actor and how to get the most out of him on his stingy-ass Konami budget. And yeah, Hayter is probably in the game as Solid Snake. I think I know enough of the Metal Gear canon (which Kojima confirmed he would retcon) to know that the ending has to involve the big fight between Solid and Big Boss.

@nightriff: I actually really liked Watch_Dogs original soundtrack but the radio/MP3 monstrosity had just an absolutely awful selection, one of the worst I've seen in a big budget GTA clone. You'd think a cyberpunk-ish game focused on hacking would have a lot of weird electronic music but nope, it had like ten while it also had 30 fucking punk rock songs along with a shitload of bad rap music -- it's nonsense, it felt like they realized in March that they had to include a music system for freeroaming and cobbled it together while also settling on whatever licensing they could get, not wanting to "waste" money on big names. And what's funny is that there are loads of indie musicians doing weird electronic music that would fit the world of Watch Dogs excellently.

They should just start naming them like sports games.

I personally can't wait to see how bad Assassin's Creed 2016 Nu [for next-gen consoles] and Assassin's Creed 2016 Vintage [for last-gen consoles] are going to be and just how much stupidity Ubi's PR department will shit out of their mouths.

@veektarius: AI being buggy will 100% kill this game, and yeah, CA is known for buggy AI. On the other hand, this being a much tighter game and smaller game, it'll allow them to polish it up more easily than an RTS.
