Favorite/most memorable moment: Todd Howard announcing confirming Starfield AND Elder Scrolls VI. Yes they're just logos and far away, but just getting it over announcing two next-gen games made me happy. Don't care if it's we won't hear anymore about the latter for half a decade.

Best Show: Microsoft easily. Took a page from Sony and just showed a delude of games, many looking promising. Yeah their actual first party lineup is still thin, but they're looking decent for what they are and picking up new studios like Ninja Theory will pay off in the future. Phil continues to right the ship. Sony better look out when the next gen turnover happens.

Most anticipated (no order):

  • Devil May Cry 5
  • Resident Evil 2
  • Cyberpunk 2077
  • Ghosts of Tsushima
  • Death Stranding
  • Fallout 76
  • Dragon Quest XI
  • Valkyria Chronicles 4
  • SoulCalibur VI
  • Metal Wolf Chaos XD (!)

I'm actually glad if Netherrealm got some more space between games, maybe even get to work on something that's not a fighting game perhaps. But they might just be saving it for Evo.

Would have liked to seen what Rocksteady's up to, but it hasn't really been that long since Batman vr. Hopefully it's a sign that they're working on something that's not another Batman game.

@uhtaree: I'm super into the bright blue skies this trailer has. Really sets it apart from so many other dystopian/post-apocalyptic setting so common now. I'm also into how "fun" it feels despite how violent and messed up the imagery is.

Yeah nice to see this come back on more platforms. Not a big Tales guy, but it'll probably be something I pickup in a sale then bury in my backlog like most of the other Tales games I own.

Strong trailer alright; I especially like the color and daylight setting. Only thing I'm holding back my hype is the fact it still seems a long way off.

I was pretty unimpressed with last year's reveal, and I feel the same here. It looks fine I guess, albeit very derivative of other loot-shooter games. At a glance it looks so similar to Destiny aesthetically, and Destiny isn't exactly eye catching either. People don't come to Bioware games for the moment to moment action, they come for story, but what they've shown off so far doesn't lead me to think it's going to be super story intensive. Which is fine if you make a good loot-grind, but when they're talking big about story and world-building, and then not showing anything, and talking about these co-op mission, without really showing goals/destination/rewards--there's a distinct lack of hooks. They seem to be pushing the Ironman suits hard, but that's not really much of one imo. The fact that we've only seen people grenading enemies that pose no threat hasn't helped. We need to see a knockdown fight with a heavy to get a feel what combat really feels like (I hope).

All cynicism aside, I still think there's potential here, but the fact that they've had two underwhelming showing now says they're behind where they should be and aren't confident in showing more. Who knows if EA's willing to push it into year financial year or if it will be Destiny 1 all over again. There is a demo being shown though, so maybe will finally get more nitty gritty details.

Just limiting to systems I actually owned:

  • Gameboy: The Legend of Zelda: Link's Awakening
  • N64: The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time
  • Gamecube: Resident Evil 4
  • PS2: Virtua Fighter 4: Evolution
  • GBA: Final Fantasy V Advance (Fire Emblem 7 for original title)
  • PSP: Persona 3 Portable (Metal Gear Solid: Peace Walker for original title)
  • DS: Dragon Quest V (Etrian Odyssey III for original title)
  • Playstation 3: The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim
  • 3DS: Actually not sure here, maybe 7th Dragon III or Pokemon Alpha Sapphire
  • PSVita: Persona 4 Golden (original title: Trails of Cold Steel)
  • Wii U: Donkey Kong Country: Tropical Freeze
  • PS4: No clear winner, probably either Monster Hunter World, Dark Souls III, or Blazblue: Central Fiction

Considering streaming hasn't exactly taken off as is I can'y see anything changing that drastically in a decade. Even under ideal conditions it's still a bit of a compromise, and the internet is far from ideal. Whoever tries to do this would be giving a huge opening to competitors.

It looks better than I expected in some ways, but I'd rather just wait until the next core title.
