@beerbaron17, @panfoot, @alkusanagi, @viking_funeral and all-

Thanks all for the feedback. I am definitely leaning towards Gold and will prob start picking it up or by the time Legacy arrives. I get that its safe, but honestly, nostalgia is what I am riding on right now, at least to start, especially when so much is different - Claremont was my formative years, so I don't see it as a negative, comfort food is a great term for it. Besides, I've actually literally just pulled out Morrisons X-men 114-154 run to re-read anyway lol. Seems like Marvel is generally down, so will see how this all shakes out.

I did not know that Astonishing was a limited run, so thanks for that tip as well. Will keep an eye on Cable. I don't think I want to jump in on it right now, just interested based on the Legacy solicitations of a new team.

Some of you mentioned Marvel unlimited. Between some available trades on Amazon Prime and a free tryout of Comixology unlimited during a recent trip I am definitely onboard. Still, I have to pull the old man 'get off my lawn you dang kids and your ipads' card and say that I'll still need to get some core books on paper, and with the free digital codes these days it is the best of both worlds.

I'm getting back into comics after a long hiatus due to family/work/blahblah. Tbh, on the Marvel side of things, their whole current line is damn near unrecognizable for an old timer like me- Thor isn't Thor, Stark isn't Iron Man, Banner isn't the Hulk, and so on. BUT, the whole Generations and upcoming Legacy numbering/return-to-the-basics pitch seems to be a good point of return aimed at those like me. I definitely plan on checking out core titles like ASM, Iron Man, etc, but the X books under the Legacy banner, looks like they will keep their Gold/Blue volumes.

(I'm kind of shocked that, given its purpose, Legacy will not have an X-book revert to Uncanny!). So, I'm looking for feedback on how the x books are doing and recommendations between Blue, Gold, Astonishing, and Cable (I know cable is not necessarily a team book, but it looks like they will lean on the new mutants/xforce angle with Legacy). I read and collected heavily on and off for a good 20 year period between the 80s to 00s, but this time I'm trying to be a bit more restrained and not just pick all of them up lol.

I am still very early in the game (Chapter 3), but starting to get bored with the side quests as I've knocked out 10ー15 already and I think pretty much ALL of them have been nothing but fetch quests- get me some ore (yo Dino, do you mind not sitting so damn far from the road), get me some car wax, fetch me some frogs, get me some ingredients, etc.

So, is this the extent of side quests? Or will there be any variety or anything memorable soon (no spoilers please- just mean in terms of mechanics)? I tend to focus on side quests in RPGs to level up, but I'm really hoping for some variety!

Also, I understand there is an extensive end game after the story- are all side quests still available in the open world too after the story conclusion?

I think easily 2007/2008:

  • Persona 4
  • Halo 3
  • COD4: MW
  • Orange Box (Portal, TF2)
  • Mass Effect
  • Bioshock
  • Super Mario Galaxy
  • God of War 2
  • Rock Band
  • MGS4
  • Left 4 Dead
  • Assassin's Creed
  • Fable 2
  • GTA4
  • Braid
  • Fallout 3
  • Little Big Planet
  • Burnout Paradise
  • Gears 2

I'm sure I'm forgetting something big...

I'm a pretty casual FF fan. I've played FF1, 7, 10, 13, 13-2, and am currently playing 15. But, confession time, while I've sunk many hours into all of these, I only ever finished 13. Usually either the grind will turn me off, or the story or combat system won't keep me engaged for more than 40 hours or so. (I know it is divisive, but I absolutely loved 13's combat system).

In truth, I only really started appreciating JRPGs 5 or so years ago, so whenever one of these HD re-releases or remakes comes out, making the older FF games more accessible, I like to check it out. But I'm completely blind to FF12. I don't know what a zodiac job or a license board are. How does this game compare to the other entries in the series, mechanics and story wise? What was it's reception like 10 years ago from FF fans?

I hope to see @rorie doing a Quick Look of this game next week!

I remember early on in the P5 marketing campaign, there was a trailer which ended with the PS3 and PS4 logos to indicate which platforms P5 was coming too. As it faded to black, the Ps and the numbers of each logo seemed fade away considerably slower than the rest of the graphics on the screen. A lot of people took that as a hint that Atlus was planning to release ports of P3 and P4. Did anything come of this? Did Atlus confirm or deny, or hint again?

My answer is No, but not because I like the ads. They were funny at first, but mostly have gotten tired and I fast forward through them. The reason I still get the version which includes ads is because I just use the iOS Podcast app to download them automatically. Just easier for me that way I guess.

I should add my current ones as well:

  • Titan - Helm of Saint 14 - bubble blinding isnt really that useful in this raid, but it CAN come in handy. I mostly just use it because it is the dopest looking ever and my Y2 rolled with health on orb pick up. I do switch to Crest of Alpha Lupi if I'm transferring orbs from the Relay to the Warpriest area.
  • Hunter - Skyburners Annex - honestly, because it was an early drop for me and the highest rated helm I had for a long time, so I've infused it up since. But the perks are actually very nice- Become an orb factory AND get special ammo randomly.
  • Warlock - Heart of the Praxic Fire - because I'm going to be running sunsinger and rez-ing anyway, might as well get more grenades and orbs when I do.

Just curious what people are taking into the raid (King's Fall) as far as exotic ARMOR for each class.

While generally regarded as the worst of the three raids, at the very least Crota's End gave the opportunity for some exotics to shine: e.g. - Don't Touch Me gloves for Hunters, or helms with health regeneration on orb pickup like Apotheosis Veil for Warlocks, Insurmountable Skullfort for Titans, and Mask of The Third Man for Hunters.

With the exception of Bones of Eao for hunters during the platforming section(s), it feels like no exotic armor is really shining in the raid. So, just curious to see if there are hidden gems out there that I"m not thinking of.
