I really didn't believe they would have an option less than $499 but that's when I thought Series X was going to be $599. Given the recent revelations I'm gonna say we get $499/$399 (for the digital one).
@sparky_buzzsaw That steep ramp combined with the game being a little too long is what kept me from finishing. I was willing to slog through some more unpredictable golf because I thought the end was coming, then I realized there were a few hours left and just nope'd out of that game.
Golf Story is still totally recommendable because it looks nice and is charming and wacky, I just wish it was a tighter, 6ish hour experience.
@sbarre I just "finished" the main story of The Witcher 3 for the first time last week and I cannot recommend it highly enough. By all accounts Divinity: OS2 is also amazing but for me TW3 was a genre defining game so if it were me I'd probably play that first. Like I said, you probably can't go wrong either way though
I want to see Snap Map as a separate, potentially free executable kind of like the Halo Forge. I think putting that out there people could make some really cool stuff, and it could stand separate so they don't need to re-release it or port in the new content with each sequel. Asking for it to be free is maybe a lot so they could try something else but spinning it out makes sense to me.
Part of this seems inevitable, and certainly isn't unique to games journalism. People in media tend to have a hard time being media critics, partially because the circles are so small and so the people they'd want to cover are their friends/ ex-coworkers of the companies they could be criticizing they could very well work for someday. However, there is also something to the way the scenarios were handled and that affecting the coverage. In general I think the media companies are quicker to let go of those that could be in these situations than developers/publishers are (Randy Pitchford is still employed, Robinson was shown the door quickly).
So I would say that you're right that the coverage of these issues when they happen inside the media fraternity is maybe not as strong, but that's kind of to be expected.
This was really awesome for me. E3 actually gets me down because it brings out the worst kind of gamer crowd on the internet (console fanboys or people dismissing things like "Indie Trash") so seeing this on this particular week was awesome. And they really deserve it, they've been doing so much work on that game.
Also not for nothing but it has seemed to me that Mahardy and Dan are friends, beyond just being colleagues in the same building so maybe that's why he's been coming over more often. Not sure but regardless Mike is great so I'm glad every time he's on.
I think the writing has gotten kind of silly because there are two distinct camps of fans of this show, and so they're trying to cater to everybody they can. As the show has gotten more popular there is a whole group of people that come to the show for the spectacle and the action scenes. But for me, and several of my friends the political intrigue and character interactions that the first two seasons were excellent at were always the draw. For me, this last episode was one of my favorites from the entire series, but if this isn't really what you come to GoT for then I can understand why it was less appealing.
I too had a question about Forsaken. I submitted Destiny 2 on my list. Forsaken did get a retail release this year. If not eligible that's fair I was just curious where we were coming down on this.
