I am so blown away by this app. This is easily now my preferred way to consume GB content.

I'm in the UK using Pihole with Firefox, Chrome, Edge, with Ublock Origin and Privacy Badger. I've had to customise Privacy Badger and Ublock Origin in the past, but disabling them didn't allow the play button to be functional. It seems (this time) like Pihole is blocking "cdn.cookielaw.org", "geolocation.onetrust.com" and others (as it should). If cookielaw.org isn't whitelisted, the play button does nothing. Once cookielaw.org is whitelisted then the privacy options load, and once you've rejected all those then the content loads and the media player works. If you then remove cookielaw.org from the whitelist, the site then loads - I suspect until the next time it checks on the cookie situation. This happened with all three browsers, although I believe Chrome needed the onetrust.com domain whitelisted at least for one load of the page.

Whitelisting cdn.cookielaw.org on my pihole also solves the issue for me.

You guys should check out "Bomb Cyclone", it is a new iOS app that is being actively developed. It works great.

This app is a blessing! I came to complain about the how buggy the main site is on my iPad but now I don't really care because this solves every issue.

The more I play the more frustrated I am with the combat. I'm playing on story and sword difficulty (default) on Xbox One.

It must have taken me nearly a dozen attempts to defeat the wraiths on the lubberkin escort quest. I kept getting stuck on geometry and my lock-on would auto target the most inconvenient enemy. The bestiary stated that wraiths are weak to shield and trap signs, but their effect wasn't clear in combat.

The most recent point where I quit out of frustration was a long quest chain inside a cave. When fighting what appeared to be the final encounter I had ran out of food items and my sword broke with no way to recover or repair. I'm starting to get used to using potions, but the reliance on consumables leads to some frustrating situations on long quests like this.

- Dont bother with lock on, especially when you are up against groups. The "natural" targeting works really well.

- Traps will keep the wraiths from disappearing. If one walks into the trap they are completely vulnerable.

- You can meditate anywhere. Also, are you sure your sword actually broke or did you hit the 50% point? The warning icon appears when your weapon hits 50% not when its actually broken. A total break shouldnt be happening that often, make sure you hold on to repair kits from that exact reason though.

I never said I was having a hard time though, I just find the combat to be unsatisfying so far. I'm sure it's linked to being an early level, but I don't want to play a game for 10 hours for it to get fun (combat wise in this case). Witcher 2 was better at closing the distance Arkham/Assassin's Creed style early in the game when bouncing between opponents. Wolves, dogs, and similar creatures are annoying because you can't use block or parry on them, they're fast, they swarm, and take down a silly amount of health.

This is a good game so far, but I'm not sure why people are jumping up and down now with the hype and 10 out of 10s when it's not much different from Witcher 2 besides better graphics and more open level design. It has more in common with W2 than differences with it. Even ignoring the combat, the crappy checkpoints and health system would stop me from giving it a 10. A challenge is great, I loved playing Ninja Gaiden on Xbox or DMC recently on their higher difficulty, since they felt fair. A dog slapping you taking away 35% of your health when you're the biggest badass and wearing armor feels silly to me.

I think issue is that you want to play it strictly like an action game in the vein of the free flow twins, AC, and even the Souls games, which are all games where success is largely about twitch skill. Witcher combat is just as much RPG as it is action. Its very much like traditional turnbased RPGs in that sense. The game expects you to use Signs, Potions, Bomb, oils, ect to exploit enemy weaknesses. Those wolves are a great example, they're extremely vulnerable to Igni. Hitting them with an Igni wave and following up with sword strikes to thin their numbers is far more effective than just dodging and trying to peck at them one at a time. If you just want to hit things with your sword and dodge then you are neglecting half of the game's combat and you are just going to make things more frustrating than they need to be.
