My JRPGs

Ordered in most amount of time to the least. I at one point owned every one of these games on this list (except for FFX because it was borrowed and FFXII because it was pirated). So I literally got tired, bored, or stuck on all of these except for #1. Also, I guess I'll count Pokemon...

I literally have no time for these games any more, and I already didn't have the patience! So I guess save for Persona 5, I'll just say I'm making a mistake if I ever buy a JRPG ever again.

List items

  • Finished!

Actually finished this and really got into the combat. Probably... 50-80 hours?

  • Not finished!

70 hours in total. Kept coming back. Restarted it probably 5 times. I believe my best run I got to the ship and the old guy character and that prince dude.

Tried many times to finish it just just always lost interest (JRPGs tend to do that to me) even though I very often dug the story a whole lot. I just wish there was some secret mode where I could play a no-grind, no-bullshit version of the game that took me <20 hours. That'd be great! If I was like... sent to a desert island or imprisoned, I'd definitely finish it then! :V

    Probably 70% finished.

  • Not finished!

Probably 40 hours. Got to the last character, was probably 80% of the way through.

  • Not finished!

Probably 20 hours. My save file is basically at the point where I get the third main character. Holy shit does this game take its damn time...

  • Not finished!

Probably 20 hours. I got to borrow this and a PS2 back when I was like 13 and that was awesome. Got to the boss where it was at a sea-side cliff and barfed on you. Couldn't beat it because I had run away from all the random encounters leading up to it cause I didn't know that was how JRPGs worked.

  • Not finished!

Probably 15 hours. Still technically have a in-progress save I guess... but then I got a Vita and... I forget.

  • Not finished!

    Probably 15 hours.

  • Not finished!

    Probably 15 hours.

  • Not finished!

Probably 15 hours. While everyone was complaining that FFXIII was too linear, I was complaining that it was too old. Seriously, who wants to get lost, running around speech-bubbling every fucking character in a town for 20 minutes at a time?

  • Not finished!

    Probably 10 hours.

  • Not finished!

Probably 10 hours. Don't recognize it? Yeah, it's one of those JRPGs...

  • Not finished!

    Probably 5 hours.

  • Not finished!

Probably 5 hours. Okay, the one I didn't own this one, I had a Magic swap disc...

  • Not finished!

Probably 5 hours. Oh Y did I buy this game? If something doesn't engage me mentally in the first 5 hours, then seeya.

  • Not finished!

Have a current save about 4 hours in... I think I've got Chie on my team... Bought a digital copy so it's mine for life!

  • Not finished!

4 hours. Unfortunately I just thought that everyone was too 'sullen anime' for me after the charmingness of Persona 4.

  • Not finished!

    Probably 3 hours.

  • Not finished!

Probably 1 hour. The PSP re-release. Think I got it through Goozex.

  • Not finished!

25 minutes. Looked really cool and the combat system seemed complex but deep, I had spent a whole lot of time debating whether or not to buy it before I did... but then I think I got stuck on the like... second fight in the game. I don't know what I was doing wrong but I just couldn't do it.

  • Not finished!

20 minutes. Heh, was on sale on Steam... that was a complete waste of about $10.
