FF13 is getting some bad reviews for it being very linear and even saying the story is not that great. I'll post some links in a bit.

I just want other peoples take on this? I was looking forward to this game but now I'm very upset to be hearing these things.

According to the review , FF13 suffers from severe linearity, whereby there isn't even any towns or free exploration where you can do what you want. You are forced to be dragged along with the story and follow its pace. What kind of an rpg doesn't let you do what you want?

I guess the thing that really upsets me is being they have made it more of a push you down a path with no open feel to the world. I'm hearing the story is not that great? IDNO I guess after a few years of western RPG's being so good at a more open play as you go feel it spoils me. I sense that FF13 will be an AA at best looks like most reveiwers are going to feel and think the same about this.

And let me be clear for some of you. I know the sales are good. I meant fans and review sites are starting to poor in with some mixed bag concerns and some are even saying the game is just not that great.

like your avatar. I'm really feeling this one. Every 7-10 years or so we get a GREAT one. Just like System Shock 2 and Half Life and My all time fave Deus Ex. We get a great one and Mass Effect 2 looks to be this game. And of course I think Deus Ex 3 with going back to it's roots and PC only will be another alltime great. I'm building a new PC just for that masterpeice.

Everything bad about ME1 was directly addressed in ME2  I've been posting every HD and new Mass Effect 2 Video on my youtube channel here, also with download links in case any of you want to download them as well, including the BLUR Trailer in HD 720p, normally only reserved for paying IGN Insider members, but through a few contacts, and the "Shadow Broker" it's up for viewing and downloading.  http://www.youtube.com/user/javierabegazo  Also, I've been compiling all the new and good Mass Effect 2 information, here, sort of a motherload of ME2 information in case you've missed some of the press, If you still don't realize that ME2 will be 10x the RPG that ME1 wanted to be, read articles #1 and #5, and #7  http://docs.google.com/View?id=dd78xshh_22fvjpmzcj "

A few things I want to add. You can now blow parts of enemies body parts off. And catch this the enemy will still craw or move or attack you until it is dead. AKA like the Terminator did. WOW yes that is SICK.    Also there is a HUGE suprise in store for the Mako. Bioware has not said yet but they sau this is a big suprise for the good.  Also note Mass Effect 2 is a FULL SHOOTER now the combat is basicly like Gears Of War style and is all on the fly with a full A button cover system.  And throw in the RPG and upgrades and insaine bioware great story. This game is going strait to the HALL OF FAME!!!     "
Am I the only one who would rather have a tactical focused game like Mass Effect on PC? "

It still is. You can still use your squad and flank. You can even send each squad member in different directions now.  You just have a more shooter feel with better cover system and smooth frame rate now.

"Ok that's enough. Where the mods? The OP just can't seem to comprehend that not everyone is going to like this game. Saying Mass Effect 2 is going to be gears with RPG in it is not only the opposite of reassuring but it actually makes me want to go and cancel my fully paid copy of this game.  "

Listen Mass Effect 2 is a FULL ON Shooter now. With all the RPG and story.=HUGE WIN not just me all the game mags and developers who have tested it all say it feels like Gears with a full A button cover system. This is a GREAT THING. With full open world and RPG this is an amazing game.

Why? All the complaints and tech issues have been fixed. Bioware has even came out and said the game runs buttery smooth now. They also said they have made the game way bigger and the planets are much more filled with life and things to do. These were the 2 biggest complaints. Bioware has said this is all fixed. it's a 2 disk game now. Yes sounds like no more bare planets to explore. Sounds like this game has HUGE WIN all over it.

Wrong Wrong WRONG!!!!!!

Mass Effect 1 was AMAZING!!!!! It had around 50hours of gameplay how is that short? Also the story was AMAZING!!!!!! Also had open world gameplay and choices can be made. It's only draw back was cleary the tech issues. Still got an 8.5 with major bugs and frame issues.

It sounds more like you sucked balls at playing Mass Effect 1

Mass Effect 2 is going to be HANDS DOWN THE BEST GAME this entire gen PERIOD!!! I say this becuase we all know if Mass Effect 1 did not have all the bugs and techicals issues that game would of been 9.5-10.00 score AAA-AAAA EASY.

And with Mass Effect 2 and bioware saying all the tech issues are ironed out and the frame rate is buttery smooth, There is NO QUESTION that Mass Effect 2 stands to be the difinitive game this gen.

Also it is spectacular that Mass Effect 2 kind of has a Gears style gameplay now this equals AMAZING. throw in all the RPG and story. And with from what Bioware says is a much more fleshed out and exspansive universe to explore (AKA on 2 disk). This game is a possible Top 5 of alltime in the making. Maybe yes I'll say it TOP 3 of alltime. Could be right there with the great Deus Ex and Half Life.

Make NO MISTAKE Mass Effect 2 is going to BLOW all the other games out of the water this gen. And for sure stand a great chance of being the defining game of this gen. And perhaps a top choice of ALLTIME.

" Well, I didn't play much of COD4/COD5 (rented them once or twice), but decided to check out MW2 to see if they did anything to make the game more accessible to those of us who don't play FPS's that much. Sadly, they haven't, as deathstreaks don't really do anything to change the gameplay balance.I realize it's possible to get better with practice, but I simply don't have the time to play enough to compete with the 18-hour-a-day lifers. (At most, I get maybe 1 or 2 hours a week on average to play.) Being used for target practice is only fun for so long. Plus, I have a few issues with MW2, which I'll discuss below. So I'm wondering if there's a game similar to MW2 (with perks, kill streaks, weapon upgrades killcams, etc) that's a little more accessible to newer players. I'm not talking about dumbing down the gameplay, but maybe having a system that matches players of equal skills, or else possibly have a seperate lobby so those of us who only play every once in awhile can play with each other and actually have a good time, without constantly getting slaughtered by the elites. Plus, maybe a few improvements (from my perspective) over MW2:- I think the maps in MW2 are too big and encourage camping. Looking for something with smaller maps that's a little friendlier to run-and-gunners- If you spot somebody in MW2 before they see you, they don't have a snowball's chance in hell... kills are just too quick. I'd like a scenario where there's a little more back and forth. Not so much that you're hopping around like bunnies, but just a little more than 3-5 seconds of gunplay.- A game where players move a bit faster, so you don't have to run around with your thumb jammed on the left analog stick for sprinting. A quick turnaround feature would be nice too.- I like the kill streak perks in MW2, but I think the air strikes are completely out of control. I don't have a problem with air strikes in general, but when you're getting nailed by the same plane 2-3 times just because you want to run around outside, it's a little much.Basically, I like MW2 a lot, but I feel as if I'm being punished because I haven't been playing COD for the last couple of years. I'd like to know if there is an alternative for me.Oh, I almost forgot... I have a 360 and PS3, so I can buy games for both, but enjoy playing online with the 360 better. PS3 is mainly used for blu-rays :) Unfortunately, my PC doesn't have enough muscle to play games less than 3 years old. "

Wait until March trust me Bad Company 2 BLOWS MW2 out of the water. I have been playing the Bad Company 2 beta on PS3 and it is way better fun for online play.
