" @Zeninnnnnnnn: I completely understand. The rest of this isn't directed at you BTW. You're one of the few mature people in this thread.  I listen to the podcast every night - yeah every night, Brad's voice helps me sleep. What? - so the Bombcast is very precious to me. It sucks that she may/may not have ruined the show for some people, but death threats and photoshop threads are an extremely immature way to deal with it.   Podcast ruined for you? Bummer, that sucks. I kind of don't want to listen to it again either, but guys, it's a free podcast.... death threats? It frightens me to imagine what some of you do when someone turns around in your driveway? =P Side-note: Come on. That chick was hammered!!! It's a bad idea to have her on the podcast in that state, and allow her to use Twitter apparently, but I don't think we really know her well enough to critique her so harshly. At least take a few baby steps before you get into the "fuck that bitch in the mouth, I hope she dies in a car fire," stage. Chillax people. Go play some Rez. "

I've been following this thread quite a bit.. I've not seen these death threats your talking about.  The vast majority of us are just frustrated and disapointed.  As others have said compared to most internet threads we're being pretty reasonable and nice.  We're just venting a bit.  No one wishes anything bad on her.  Just don't have her back.  Yeah this was just a podcast but it was a pretty important week for video games and GiantBomb fans.  And this was the final podcast to wrap it all up.  So I don't think we were unreasonably disappointed.

Statements like this kill me " I don't think we really know her well enough to critique her so harshly".   We're not critiquing her!  I've seen very little of that on here.  We're only talking about *what she did tonight*.  not who she is or how she lives the rest of her life.  Only what she did tonight.  (well and possibly the last time she was on and apparently behaved similarly)

" I thought she was interesting. So what if she was drunk and you found it annoying that's what all women are like when they're drunk. ; ) I liked her, I even sent her an email of support and apologising for some of the arseholes on the interwebs. "
so your watching a streamcast coverage about a once in a year event your really interested in hosted by people you respect and find entertaining and some guy comes on there drunk and monopolizes the whole conversation.

I'm pretty sure if this had been a guy who acted like she did you probably wouldn't be defending him.  Just because you 'like' her and found her rudeness and rambling amusing doesn't make us 'arseholes' for being disappointed that she ruined the bombcast.

" She's still tweeting about it. She's still arguing that it cost half a billion dollars. She has a gigantic ego and people tend to respond viscerally to that. "Have fun at home while we're at E3, internet kids," basically throwing her own audience under the bus with that comment to make herself feel more important. "Keep making me famous, haters," is basically her admitting 'I am not on your podcast to have a conversation, I am here so that you will know my name by the end of it.' And you know what? It worked.   I had no clue who she was before this.I'm human and when I see a train wreck happening in slow motion I watch with glee. Being obnoxious has nothing to do with gender, it's a sense of entitlement, and a general lack of respect for other people's opinions. Everyone in that room gave her more respect than she deserves. Don't broadcast on the internet when you're liquored up. You will regret it in the morning and for the rest of your professional life.  "
THIS.   I've already said my piece about internet white knights.  C'mon.  Do some of the hateful things have to come in to play?  Probably not.  But this is two years in a row now.  And she's still talking trash about it on twitter.  C'mon.  Look at it for what it is: An attention starved young woman who desperately wants to be known for something.  She wants attention.  And attention came during the GiantBomb stream tonight, and attention will be brought to her by twitter and her own website.  The only thing I feel sorry for is that the GB staff and guests had to endure that nonsense for as long as they did. "
Hmmm..  The GB staff is something I've been trying to avoid talking or even thinking about in this.  I've never seen this girl before but apparently she ruined last years event too?  So what I've been having trouble understanding is...

why on earth was she invited back?    o.O

I didn't see last years so maybe she wasn't as bad and didn't ruin it completely but she flat out ruined this one.  I guess she must be really nice normally and behave completely differently than she did tonight.  Maybe once she senses the cameras are on her she can't resist grabbing the attention.

meh that should read "It's her job to have an opinion and present it in a professional well written manner"  you can't just leave off the second part.

" Haven't listened to it yet, but last year I found the reaction to her to be way over the top. I guess i'll find out later today.  In any case the GB 'community' embarrasses itself once again. People don't need to act like some angry mob to get their point across. "

Fans of GiantBomb are expressing disapointment over a once a year event  we were looking forward  that was supposed to be entertaining and fun and which was pretty much ruined.  How is that embarrasing ourselves..  Unless you are just mocking us for loving video games and GiantBomb.  You might as well go to and NFL forum and tell them they're being silly for being so interested in the superbowl.  And before you say this doesn't compare to the Superbowl, for us E3 pretty much does and this was supposed to be the final GiantBomb wrap up / party.

" I don't hate her at all. Maybe my expectations for the event podcasts differ from most peoples'. All I want from the PAX, E3, etc. podcasts is to hear a bunch of drunk people who are really good buddies, sit around and tell funny anecdotes.  It's all for fun! As soon as the Bomb Squad settles down and does another normal podcast, I'm sure we'll get the calm, professional coverage of games we always get. It's not a biggie, really. "

You sound like someone who didn't listen to it. A lot of people seem to be popping in, having not listened to it, and are responding to the forum comments like they're in a vacuum and completely ignoring how utterly classless and petty she was the entire time and continues to be. No class to be found on either side here. "
Kinda rude.... but OK.

I came in a little late, but I still heard plenty of Leigh. It was Leigh being Leigh. Perhaps even louder than last year. But fuck it. Some people are just more rowdy than others, and I find the chaos to be pretty damn funny at times. Even if it's for the wrong reasons.

Fast-forwarding has become such a trivial task on portable media devices. When the Bombcast is posted for download, is it really that big of a deal in the long-run? Just skip it. "
We've already covered this. You could say "just skip it" about anything you have a problem with. If people didn't post things they have a problem with, there wouldn't be an internet (other than porn). Its a lazy talking point, "just skip it". "
I admit it's a lazy answer and maybe not the best way to deal with things, but tearing someone to pieces on internet forums is not helping either. A person can only take so much abuse, and this kind of insensitive bullshit has lead to all kinds of suicides. That's just awful beyond words. Some polite requests sent to Ryan or Jeff could prevent her from being a guest ever again. It's one day out of the entire year though, I really don't see how this has gotten to be such a HUGE deal.

I can guarantee everything that was at E3 will be covered on the Bombcast at a later date if you really can't stand her. I've just never seen so much hatred for a single person before.  "

I may not have read every post here but I think we are being fairly kind to Leigh.  In fact we're not talking about her, only things she did tonight.   As I've said many times she must be a great person/writter otherwise the GB crew wouldn't have had her on.  But she really ruined the show and acted very selfishly against 3000 or so people who were expecting a great night of discussing the wrap up of E3.  I don't hate her.  I never heard of her before tonight but she really selfishly ruined something many of us were looking forward to.   And apparently did it last year too.  I imagine the guys were like "yeah come back this year but maybe tone it down a *weeeee* bit."  If so she either didn't listen or didn't care.

and let's get this straight It's not 'hate' for Leigh, it's passion for GiantBomb and their usual quality of bombcast and love for videogames and anticipation of E3 and the disapointment and time wasted of thousands of GB fans who were looking forward to what was going to be the last and hopefully best of E3 bombcasts this year.    No one here wishes anything bad for her, just the majority of us thinks she should not be on 'live' shows.

It's not white knighting, you cunts are fucking embarrassing, get out of your basements and learn to have some common decency,

I doubt anyone here has ever heard of taking the high road,

I hope that you dick weeds learn to treat others with with some decorum and respect, even if it isn’t earned.
You may claim hypocrisy, but you people don't deserve my respect.

I said it once, I'll say it again, grow up.

"
So we're saying things like "wow she may be a great person and writer but she can't control herself live, at least while drunk, and ruined a much anticipated broadcast that was supposed to be about E3.  Please don't have her come back".

You're saying things like"you cunts", "get out of your basements", "dick weeds" , "grow up"

I'm not sure common decency means what you think it means sir.

" wow man way to be an ass, i wasn't super thrilled to see her but she wasn't that bad "
I really don't understand how someone who actually watched the stream can say something like this.  Surely you can't argue that she wasn't speaking at least 50% of the time?  My estimate is more like 60-70%.   This in a room of  ten or so people where she was just a guest, NOT the host or moderator.  How can you say she wasn't that bad?  She completely derailed what was a pretty important broadcast to the GiantBomb readers.

" I think Leigh Alexander is a great journalist. I love her articles on Kotaku and read Gamasutra all the time.  Please, do not bring her back onto the Bombcast though, especially if she's drunk. "

Well said, I have no hate for this person. I had never heard of her before tonight. She may be a wonderful person and great writer.. but please please please please don't have her back on again she can not control herself and is not guest material.

Yeah I may be sounding unreasonably like I'm owed something but GiantBomb has a reputation for quality bombcasts and I stayed up several hours late on a work night expecting a great wrap up on E3.  Instead we got two and a half hours of her interrupting, dominating the show and trying to get attention and maybe half an hour of actual E3 coverage.

" I literally have no problem at all with this girl.  She started some weird convos  was loud or whatever (but hey its like a party boozing after alot of work) even if wrong, I am having fun watching it, so much hate for a stranger. "
The *frustration* and *disappointment* (hate is not what this is about)  is because she didn't give the people that we actually came to hear any time to talk and constantly interrupted them on the off chance they did get to start a sentence.
