The only book of his that I really liked was 'Salem's Lot. The others I read were pretty "meh" imho. I actively hated The Stand and I can't remember why I bothered to finish it.
So being the Godzilla nerd that I am, when I bought my PS4 a while back, this was one of the first games I picked up. It didn't have the best reputation, but I liked Super Godzilla back when I was a kid so I figured my bias towards the IP would let me enjoy it enough to my $20 worth out it. I played it then, bounced off it, and it sat on my self collecting dust for a while.
Fast-forward to last week when I saw the new Godzilla movie, and I saw this game on my shelf, and decided to give it another go. By no means is it a great game, and truth be told it probably struggles to be a good game, but I had fun with it for a few hours. As long as you play the "easy" path in the campaign mode it is good enough for you get joy out of smashing cities and fighting other monsters. Unfortunately, the "normal" and "hard" paths add on arbitrary things (such as time limits and the appearance of max level monsters when you have no chance to be that powerful), and exposes the weakness in the combat system (AI monsters can throw out combos that stagger or stun lock you pretty much at will, and can almost always break your own combos). Not a great game, but for a game I paid $20 bucks for a few years ago, I'm glad I finally wrung some fun out it.
...It is also going to for $100+ on Ebay right now, so I might sell it and get make a profit. That's a positive, right?
Wow, I missed that they changed the character names, too. Yikes.
So, since WAR Ra-I mean, The Viking Experience got called up, who are they going to drop the NXT Tag Titles to? I guess the obvious answer is Undisputed Era, but if Era gets called up to Smackdown tomorrow, I can't really think of another team that's in position for it.
Yeah, the only reason I can think of is that someone thought it would look bad to have an arena chanting "WAR" all the time.
Well...that and on the whole WWE is terrible at naming tag teams. See: The Boss and Hug Connection, and the Bludgeon Brothers. But why not just 'The Vikings?'. Why 'the experience?' Is Velveteen Dream involved somehow?
Now I'm REALLY interested in where they go for Takeover: NY
I'd LOVE to see Evil DIY vs. Black Velvet as that match would be incredible and would open up spots for other people on the card, but it looks like it'll be Dream vs. Gargano for the NA title and maybe Ricochet vs. Ciampa? I'd put money on Black showing up at the Rumble after this.
I could see Evil DIY vs Black Velvet come up in a non-Takeover match. There is a lot of time to fill between now and the next Takeover, and it could used to be build Dream vs. Gargano if that is the next NA title feud.
The thing I could see being the big build towards the next Takeover could possibly be DIY vs Undisputed Era. It makes sense in that Era has declared that they want all the titles...and now Gargano and Campia hold both men's single titles. This is assuming that Era isn't getting called up.
I feel like it gets forgotten thanks to a bunch of mediocre sequels, but after man Pirates of the Caribbean: Curse of the Black Pearl is a really good movie. It had been a few years since I had watched it and I really enjoyed discovering it again. Just lots of fun. 4/5.
