@xamon0288:Interesting. I wonder if they're benefitting from this in any way or it is just for griefing. Perhaps it counts for kills towards bounty progression...

@tds418: Well unfortunately it can happen anywhere. It happened to me on the Moon while I was talking to Eris Morn and it actually interrupted the dialogue. It was really annoying because the guy kept doing it to everyone in there so I had to leave and re-enter the area.

This is twice now that I've seen this. A player killing another player while on the public PvE locations. This is on Nessus in the Failsafe NPC room. Previously I've seen it happen on the Moon right next to Eris Morn.

I've returned to D2 only recently and don't remember this to be a thing. Is this sort of thing common now or is this new? I get that hacking is an issue on the PvP modes; what's the point of doing this in the PvE areas?

I downloaded this game about 3 weeks ago after hearing Jan and Jeff talking about it on the Bombcast. I never thought this is something that would keep me interested for long, but I'm keeping up with it still, mainly because I find it really relaxing.

This game really surprised me. I rarely click with free to play games, let alone gacha games, but this is definitely something different. Gameplay is engaging and deep... enough. Nothing groundbreaking but it has a good flow and it is very fun. Exploring the world feels great and, at least for the time being, still inspires me to chase various landmarks/chests/spirits etc...

I also really love the way it looks. The openworld can be a bit repetitive and bland, but all of the more designed areas like the cities, villages and other special landmarks can look stunning. The interior of the cathedral in Mondstadt comes to mind with the lighting from the windows, colors, reflections on the floor... so great!

Also, it might sound like a hot take, but the music of this game should at least be talked about in the GOTY deliberations. It's very subtle, but it fits the world perfectly and it is very well done! Exploring the world feels awesome with it in the background, especially in Liyue - the flutes and the traditional string instruments are so relaxing and just... nice.

The gacha element is the only thing that really rubs me the wrong way. Though, for what it's worth, I have not spent a dime on this and have not really felt the need to. I don't really care about the top tier characters and weapons. I know that the endgame is a terrible grind, but I'm not there yet and I predict that by the time I do I'll have spent dozens of hours into it and will probably put it down until more substantial content is added.

I've been playing so much of the old infinity engine games this last few months and have been loving them. On the other hand, I have never been able to really get into Divinity Original Sin. If I had to put my finger on it I'd say it was mainly the writing and the overwhelmingly openness of the game that did not click for me.

The BG and IWD games felt much more up my alley. As a person who never played tabletop D&D you can take this with a huge grain of salt, but the stories in those games always felt like they were written by a DM that really wanted to immerse you in the world they created. The intro to IWD immediately pops to mind.

This early access is supposedly the entire first act. Anyone finished it and has thoughts on how the story and characters stack up to the earlier games in the series?

Grand Strategy in general in part because there is nothing in the interface there wagging it's finger at you in judgment, so it's easy to find yourself doing absolutely heinous maybe without realizing how far you've gone.

Yes, I can definitely agree. In my latest Stellaris game I was playing a very peaceful and passive species. But as I eventually noticed that I was running out of time and will not win the game, I invaded my neighbor empire, wiped out their fleet and conquered about 70% of their territory.

I enjoyed Origins quite a bit.

I remember enjoying the story, but mostly, I remember being really impressed by the cutscenes and general animation.

I don't know if it holds up today as I have not played it since it was new, but I remember the animation, camera angles and colors having much more of a "comic book" feel to them than the rest of the arkham games; which I thought were more cinematic in style.

Yes, I'm also guilty of wishing this would be more faithful to the old CRPG style of BG/IcewindDale a la Pillars of Eternity. I guess I'm not even talking about the combat system as I actually like both RTWP and Turnbased. It's more of it looking too much like Divinty that makes it kind of lose its identity as another game in the BG series? I'm not sure, and this is all by judging the game through limited gameplay videos, so who knows.

In any case, having said that, I'm still very much excited for this. While I kind of fell off of Divinity Original Sin, I did appreciate what it was doing and I may return to it some day.

Yeah, my thoughts exactly. Since I'm not sure that this will stick with me for the long run, I'll want to invest as little as possible - which this game very much allows.

I can always go for some 3rd party generic tokens if I get a little bit more invested.

Yeah, scanning the deck is what makes the online thing a no-brainer. I'm pretty sure that I read somewhere that it is in the works.

Anyway, I think I'm gonna skip the starter set for now. The fact that I can buy just one deck and immidiately start playing is what makes it appealing.

I never really got into CCG's but I do like the concept.

Keyforge appeals to me because it seems much more streamlined while still keeping depth.

I'm thinking about trying it out but I'm not planning on finding any groups or going on tournaments. Mainly to just have the occasional game with my brother.

Anyone played it yet and have any thoughts on it?

By the way, I did read somewhere that the creator said that a digital online version is planned which will work with your physical cards. So that can also be an option.
