I'm sad Sludge Life didn't make the top 50. It's my #4 and Rich Gallop's #1. I even tweaked my list for voting and bumped it up to #1. It's free on Epic until June! Such a colourful world, packed with suprizes, humor, and a touch of social commentary.

They are on the same character arc, at different points. Abby is what happens after she gets her revenge. Ellie, is on the warpath to get her vengeance. Abby's is more sympathetic because she's on the path to redemption. Ellie's redemption isn't as explicit, but she made the choice to spare Abby before it was too late. That point can't be overstated. No matter how deep in you are, you can always choose to turn back.

I've noticed this pattern in criticism of a lot of controversial stories lately with stories that try to convey compassion, understanding and forgiveness.

Good work on that seal boss. I must have tried it about 30 more times and gave up.

Watching this after Jan fight Bloodborne's Blood-Starved Beast. Two bosses that broke me on otherwise great games.

@deathpooky: Blood-Starved Beast was what broke me on this game. Jan is really inspiring me to return. Returning to Bloodborne has never been far from my thoughts all these years.

Exploration is the best part to watch and play! Bosses are tedious.

This is my favorite series on the site in a while.

@dweep: how? Lots of people dont care for puppets. I have history with the dark crystal as a kid but the design is still unappealing. Sorry for having an opinion.

I recall the design for the characters definitely having a weird Muppet-equivalent of the uncanny valley for me, but I haven't watched that film since the 80s. Loved pretty much all other Henson stuff as a kid, but flesh-toned pseudo-human Muppets felt unnecessary. Dark Crystal holds a similar place in my memory as Return to Oz. Perhaps I'm old enough now to revisit them and not get nightmares. :P

There's a "making of" feature on Netflix that talks about the look of the Gelflings. I assume you're talking about the little elf like people and not the gnarly looking Skeksis. I agree, they looked really odd in the original, but they are improved for this show. Jim Henson wasn't happy with them either. The challenge was to have room for a hand in the head, while also trying to make them look more human like than the monsters. The result was uncanny monkey faced people. They didn't bother me as much for the show, but your mileage may vary. Otherwise I loved the show!
