Gerstmann has become a bit of an energy vampire. It's a shame because he used to be so vigorous and full of life. These days it feels like he sucks the life out of every room he's in - regardless of whether he has a positive or negative opinion about a thing.

Great reporting as ever!

This may only be interesting from an academic POV, but just think: there's not really been any hype for Respawn's game in like, ever. Now One of the studio Co-Founders have left, all of a sudden we're talking about it. This will put a lot of pressure on the remaining team to ensure that the vertical slice they show at E3 is awesome.

Could we agree to call Bioware "EA" now?

To avoid confusion for future historians.

Have you been listening to Jim Sterling?

Good call that man!

Looks awesome! First game was awesome and this also looks awesome.

But, didn't the ending of the first game imply:

Yeah, but we know now that DS II will take place in the same time line as the original, so we can only assume that each of War's brothers will have their own game set at the same time. Well, maybe that's how it'll work! I actually wrote an article about Darksiders, people's expectations for Darksiders II, and Zelda, so if you're interested in that, give it a read because I'd like to know what you think of my opinions. I'm trying to home my skills because I want to go into games journalism quite seriously, so the feedback would be greatly appreciated. :)

Now I really can't wait. Here's hoping that they do a better job with the PC version this time around.

I like to think they'll have learned from their mistakes last time around. Let's face it, Darksiders wasn't completely issue free, but it was pretty damn awesome... I think that for DS II they've got a substantial fan base who are ready to take that game on its own merits, not as a clone of Zelda, and they'll try to do right by them in every way possible. I like to be an optimist. @TheHT: Yeah man it looks that way, I'm stoked about that too! I really hope that this time, because we're all such bing fans of the first game, that this one will be seen in its own right, and not just as a clone... I like to be an optimist, I guess. I wrote quite a long piece on Darksiders, Darksiders II and Zelda, so if you're interested, you can go and read it; I'd be interested in what you think of my opinions! Bring on Darksiders II!

This guy thinks that what he says is acceptable because in his community, 15-25 year old males with low self-esteem and low confidence find solace in the fact that other people in their community are similarly in possession of low self-esteem and low confidence.

The reason this guy thinks that it's ok to be misogynistic is because his community has deemed that linguistic behaviour as normal. By thinking'[he] can say what [he] want[s]', he's merely reenforcing his community's position on acceptable linguistic behaviour.

Some Linguists in the 70s (Lesley and James Milroy) did some work on speech communities and social networks, and found that close-knit speech communities (like the ones that can be found in arcades) have strict linguistic codes with associated attitudes and vocabulary (such as 'Yeah, rape that bitch!'). They also found that a speech community's attitudes, behaviour and vocabulary became less exclusive, less incendiary and more 'normal' as the community widened.

Basically, as a greater variety of people join a community- here, the arcade community- the levels of acceptance towards those groups will increase.

...so all I'm saying Rea is good job, you're making the world a better place just by being involved!

Peace and Love x
