I love how after being a minor character so far, Abby's cat suddenly becomes the main feline of the exquisite corps. Tatically, maybe not the best choice as it reset her promotions, but meta-story wise, ideal. I'm here for the story, not the pro-strats so this was a great turn. I expect Mech Ryckert to make an appearance SOON!
I had to pause this video an hour in, to go to work. I paused it right after Dan gets the shine on the rotating rectangles. I thought we could have a caption competition until I get back from work.
I'm so torn. It looks great, but how deep will it go?
I got Destiny on the Black Friday after Taken King came out and played 200 hours in the 11 months between buying the game and rise of Iron coming out. I never quite hit the level cap and I couldn't defeat Oryx on hard. I didn't have friends playing so had to LFG it. I spent 24 hours in that raid over the last week of the 'Moments of Triump', as party members dropped and we couldn't get the last calcified fragment. I gave everything to that game, came up just short and loved every minute of it.
I bought Rise of Iron and stopped after 3 or 4 weeks. I didn't want to deal with re-grinding all over again. I felt like I had had my Destiny story. The biggest knock I have against Destiny 2 is that my character and stuff will be gone. I know they probably have good reasons, but that character, my character, IS Destiny as far as I'm concerned. This was sold as a 10 year adventure and if the sequel gets rid of all progress then it isn't that. That was one of the coolest things about the idea of Destiny. If each sequel is a stand alone game then CoD is already a 14 year adventure.
I love Destiny and the way it plays. I never had the problem of no content because doing it ALL up to and including The Taken King (I didn't use the 'jump to level 36' orb thing) was a LOT of content. Rise of Iron was of course a lot less than all of that was and I worry that Destiny 2 will be the same. 4/5 hours of story missions at best followed by a grind. I know that Destiny IS a grind, but it wasn't the way I played it and more importantly WHEN I played. Perhaps I should jump into Destiny 2 at the Black Friday sale 2018. As much as I want to play in September, I imagine that will be the best option.
TL:DR: I'm waiting for the reviews before deciding despite putting 200 great hours into Destiny 1
I'm really enjoying reading these even though I already know about all these guys. It's a great series you're putting together. Thanks.
Is Kane already in? I haven't kept up much with recent HoF stuff. If not, he's a lock.
Current/recent guys I think are deserving one day include:
Bray Wyatt
The Hardy Boyz
The Dudleys
Mickey James
Al Snow
Sabu
The Sandman
AJ Styles
There are many more, but I suppose the arguments depend on whether you feel it should be a large HoF for nearly anybody who made an impact or kept elite for only the VERY best of the best.
On a side note. How long do you think they'll keep the Warrior Award going? I'm not sure it has more than a decade in it, but I guess it makes them look good.
I teach 10 year old esl kids and some of them would be into this I'm sure. They love crappy meme jokes and will turn everything into dick/fuck references wherever possible. Things that have been used by them 100 times per week recently are: 1+1=fish, suck my wifi, NOTCH! John Cena! You Punk, Are you cereal? (to replace serious). Of course they're pretty young, and English is their second language (barely used outside of the classroom). The above nonsense is all they have gleaned from about 6 months of internet since they all got gifted cell phones for their birthdays.
I think Dan is seeing this too much through his own eyes. Of course it won't appeal to all kids, but from my experience, I think some would find it hilarious.
