@beardduder: Titanfall 2 is so awesome. I didn't have more than a passing interest when it released, but over the years of hyping it up (thanks in large part to Gerstmann and Danny O'Dwyer) I finally got around to it. It is DEFINITELY one of those games I think will 1. stand the test of time and 2. lives up to all of its hype and deserves all its praise.
@majormitch: Thanks! Into the Breach Advanced Edition would get the "Best Victory Lap Award" from me personally.
Always honored to be included in the Spotlight. Writing about games at the end of the year is a tradition I cherish and I'm happy to get to share that with a great community of folks.
Good shouts on the music. I hadn't heard of Infernax but that song goes hard AND gives me big Shovel Knight OST vibes.
My music of the year easily goes to Neon White's OST by Machine Girl. It's SO good and fits the vibe of the game perfectly. Highly recommend if you've not gotten around to listening.
Similar to @daavpuke I think I maybe need to try Triangle Strategy. The music is so, so good.
@rorie: So, y'all are just gonna be together one or two days, right? No chance you'll be able to live react in-person to Chris Pratt's Mario debut on Oct. 6?
Thanks for the shout-out on my very unfinished Games I remember from Childhood list. I plan to get back in there and wrack my brain to think of the more obscure ones and add some personal context to each title.
It's a great exercise, gettin' the nostalgic games out of my head and onto a page somewhere. I imagine someday it will be even harder to recall some of these things, so gotta get 'em while they're still there.
