I guess only gears of war and mass effect, if you dont count andromeda. I never got through bioshock 2 or halo 4. Surprised I finished halo 5. That was the least memorable game ever.

It kind of reminds me of breath of the wild, in the sense that there is a huge open space and encounters that you can interact with in multiple ways(lots of immergent gameplay). There is also that sense like you are walking in a kind of line towards the final objective on the other side of the country like journey or Oregon trail, which is kind of interesting.

Honestly, I got kind of bored with the breath of the wild gameplay loop. And I can see the same thing happening with this.

Halo 3 odst. I really like how the open world evening sections are interwoven with the straight forward missions. It makes the game have a real sense of place. And the soundtrack is great. I think I have played the campaign at least twice each year.

I would think that these bad business practices should fit more into the "please stop!" category. Do they still have that category? I haven't checked the categories for a bunch of years. "Hottest mess" seems more reserved for a specific game.

Hey all. I've been doing some reading about what happened with the development of Destiny, the past couple days and I'm quite shook up by the whole thing. From what I've read and watched, in the form of trailers is that Destiny was completely reworked and changed dramatically from what it was in 2013. And it seems to be for the worse.

Anyways, most recently, Marty O'Donnell's friend and attorney just posted on his blog about what happened to Marty, specifically. I know this is only hearing one side of the story but it sounds pretty legitimate. It's quite heartbreaking, really. The blog post details how Bungie deliberately prolonged the litigation process to cause the maximum amount of financial pain to Marty and how his co workers, the ones that he has worked with and helped out with when they had problems, betrayed him and testified against him. The post explains how this was incredibly emotionally hard for Marty to take. I would feel absolutely horrible if my friends turned against me. Apparently his co workers had not a single nice thing to say about Marty in the court appearances(I know how this works. The employees of Bungie are only trying to protect their own interests. It's stupid but true).

I'm glad that Marty won his suit but the post goes on to say that he probably wont recoup the cost of trial. It's really messed up how publishers, like Activision can get away with destroying what Destiny may have originally been with Marty O'Donnell and former lead writer Joe Staten. Not only that, but have the gall to say this was the plan all along. The plan to sell half of the game that was probably already on disc sell it as DLC? The plan was to ditch the story with one year to go, get rid of the lead writer and make Destiny an empty shell of a game?

And now I'm pretty much done with Destiny because of all this news. I can't support a developer or publisher like this.

I really think that Microsoft probably had the best conference. The one thing that was the "Wow" moment was the backwards compatability thing. I think they should have saved that for the end, though. It seemed like the biggest news. They didn't go out with a bang, when they showed off gears 4. They did announce some interesting games and they definitely have more exclusives than Sony. Forza 6 looks like a forza game. Halo looks like a halo game.

It kind of bums me out that sony is still in the whole "greatness still awaits" thing. Like, they're announcing more games that aren't going to come out for the forseeable future. I feel like it's almost as bad as the first several years of the playstation 3, where they didn't have much. It's kind of silly that both conferences ended with the forth entry in a third person shooter from last gen. I felt like they were both on par with eachother, in terms of how I'm not so excited about either of them.

And nintendo is abandoning the wii u so I guess it wasn't a big surprise that they weren't announcing very much of anything for it. It's just kind of sad. Yes, I'm excited to play star fox and xenoblade but that's about it. Mario maker does look really cool, though.

So, I played several matches over the past hour and they were pretty great. Early on, I disabled the motion controls because they felt super awkward. Other than that, I found the gameplay to be quite exquisite. I really enjoyed traversing the environment as a squid. The game has a really good flow to it. You get a rhythm going and it's lots of fun.

@daneian: the ps3 version kinda sucks. I found it unplayable compared to 360.
