Dude I fucking love games.

In recent weeks I've discovered that I've never been more happy or excited about games.
I am so fucking tired of people being so pessimistic about games and the game's industry.
I am sick to death of insanely spoiled brats shitting on games that get lower than a 9 out of 10.
Finally I fucking can't stand assholes with entitlement complexes, people that think all DLC should be free because they cut it out of the main game.
I can't stand being lectured by spoiled brats that think the world should just hand them everything.
Dude New Mortal Kombat, infamous 2, rockband 3, high-res trophy filled dreamcast games, Plus tons more. it's not just this year, every year is the best year for games. I've just come off playing what I think are 3 of my new favorite games ever Red Dead, lost planet 2, and Alpha Protocol.  I think all three of those games are really really good equally and with zero irony.
Anyways I can't really explain it but I'm very happy with games these days.

I actively avoid being pessimistic about everything concerning video games.  I'm not the one who'll call Natal shitty or the 3DS a failure because of 3D without having tried them out first.  I'm always interested in technological implementations related to gaming that might change things up.

I really do love video games.  It saddens me that I'm young, without a disposable income, so I can't play many of these games that I always hear about and that I'd want to play so much, but that's okay; reading and writing about games is also fun.

Odd picks for your favourite games ever, but I definitely feel gamers these days are too picky.  The same thing happens for movies, etc, as well but unless the game is an absolute stellar AAA title, it's apparantly not worth talking about, or even playing.  What happened?

Alpha Protocol is a great example of this, it's not Earth shattering, and I wouldn't consider it one of the best games ever made due to several flaws.. but if you liked Mass Effect, or KotOR then it's still a very enjoyable experience, and doesn't deserve to be completely ignored just because it didn't recieve 10/10 reviews.

Just wish I wasn't so hard to please these days. I purposely try and really squeeze as much enjoyment out of most games, though I am always come out with far too much to complain about.

I agree - I think far too many people nowadays approach video games with the sort of mind set that says "Okay look game, you're going to have to entertain me in these specific ways" that's just plain wrong. Games are recreational activities man, we're spending our time on them to get some enjoyment out of it and for every shit game there is, I'm sure there's a worse way to spend your time then to complain about it's flawed mechanics or whatever.

I share the love, bro. I'd definitely say I'm in my Golden Age right now. There have been so many classic games this generation that I'll remember fondly for a long time, especially Oblivion, BioShock, Dragon Age, Fallout 3 and Mass Effect. And while I don't like playing games online, I do love how the internet has brought us streamlined game patching, DLC content and of course, downloadable games. This has been a truly great generation for games, and it's not near being done yet.

I've never been like this with console or PC games.

Maybe with a few franchises like GTA but I genuinely think 4 was not as good as SA purely based on the setting (screw Liberty City it's been in like 5 GTA games)

I can't say I've got super-excited about the latest lot of recently released games (although I haven't got my hands on Red Dead Redemption yet) but E3 is just around the corner and I'm mega-hyped about that, it's gonna be awesome!

Yes people need to have the philosophy that many rockstars have , that being it is a treat for them to preform for their fans not a for their fans to see them.
It is a treat for you to play this game not for the game to be played by you .

This is exactly whats wrong with people. Oh those games didn't get a 10 out of 10 so I'm going to blindly hate them, because I'm incapable of forming my own opinion.

Agreed. Video games are wonderful, and all those negative people who whine about "when I was a kid" this and "I only play shitty pretentious indie games and complain about how mainstream and corporate everything else is because my parents didn't love me and I need to feel special" that can suck my balls.

There are a lot of valid things to complain about, but the fact that we are still buying games should tell us just how much we like them.

I second this. Being that I play a lot of old school RPGs, I find the amount of retro elitism in that specific genre to be absolutley hilarious. Some guy tried to argue against the idea of autosave in one of my recent blogs (because, as you know, making things convenient for the player is a cardinal sin), and of course, my favorite, the guy who made an account on this site for the sole purpose of very angrily chewing me out because I didn't like Daggerfall's retardedly huge dungeons and then going on and ranting about how RPGs these days are too "mainstream" and watered down.

Sure, I agree with these people on at least a superficial level, but that kind of closeminded attitude annoys me to no end.

I'm a little baffled when people say that features like fast travel should be removed from games. If they hate it so much, perhaps they should simply not use it. Also, good on you for not being a jaded ass hat. Nice to see a little positivity online for once. I don't understand the mindset of people who turn their nose up at new games. Or, for that matter, people who hate on old games for being outdated. Whatever happened to playing any game that's fun?

It's like the sheer amount of hate that Mass Effect 2 gets in certain circles for being streamlined. It's still a damn fun game, and one of my favorites.

you three options
1. stop playing games
               or
2. relax and just have fun with the games
              or
3. screw off
there you go
