The only game there I'll realistically ever play is Dead Rising 2, and only when I can buy it for <$20 on Steam.

I'm really excited for Fallout: New Vegas. I loved Fallout 3, but I am confident that Obsidian will make a much better game.

IMO, your wrong.  Thats a massive list of Junk.  Kudos if your into most of those.  But Im not and nothing that interests me is coming out this year.  I am really only into about 2 of those titles.   Just barely.
 
Nothing is coming out this year.  Which means the last few months of this year.  Thats not much, is it?

I think that when people like Jeff make that remark, they are more referring to the fact that a lot of devs that had holiday season releases pushed their games back to next year. Plus almost half of that list is niche audience stuff (GH, Enslaved, Naruto, the WWE game).

On that list, I see possibly 2 must-buys (Fallout: New Vegas, and Call of Duty: Black Ops). There's other games coming out I'd like to play, but unless they really surprise me with their awesomeness, they'll be rentals at best.

Jeff and Ryan ranted a thousand times already about people who make statements like "nothing's coming out this year" for exactly the reasons you mentioned.
The season for big releases is just starting and the spring/summer months are traditionally lacking in that department.

Then don't listen to them. I don't understand why it bothers so many people when it doesn't really concern them. I guess it's human nature to force your opinions on others though.

I have never heard anyone say this year is going to be empty, but after looking at that list, assuming you cherry picked the "best" for it, I will now say there is nothing coming out this year. Dead Rising 2 being an exception, and I would have said Fable 3 as well had they not screwed over the PC version again.
