I think its because people like things, and therefore feel the need to defend that from everyone, often they defend how they feel about a game by attacking someone of a different ideology towards the game. 
 
Sort of like if you had a girlfriend, and someone said that your girlfriend was ugly, you would still be fucking pissed off, despite the fact that it is entirely their opinion.
 
Unfortunatly for the people who get all angry over comments about videogames, its because those games ARE their girlfriends, In mindset anyways.

Because your argument is illogical. You need to back up what you're saying. GTA IV had the best story of this generation by far. Yeah, I said it. What didn't you like about it?
