I feel like looking at the following few years, 2003 was when the games I would find myself liking would become subject to an endless cacophony of annualised sequel releases.
It would take the best part of a decade for me to realise that this shit is fucked and I want little part of it. I can wait an extra year if your game is good people. Take your time.
Also, as is par for the course, some of these games suck, so just go ahead an judge me. I don't care.

I fucking love Jak II. It's probably the best sandbox game on this set of consoles and goddamn if it wasn't fantastic.
Also, I was getting into my metal phase at the time I played this and think this game might have helped push me in that direction a little.

It took me a long time to get into Prince of Persia and all things considered, this one doesn't stand out too well in my memory. It lacks some of the personality that other games in the series have. But it was still pretty good way back when, so what the hell, here it is.

I'm mostly including this because of a specific memory with a few friends, when one friend got super raged because his great grandfather or something had died fighting in WWII or something.
I might have even made that up, I can't be entirely sure. The rest of this game was pretty mediocre, even back then.

I FUCKING LOVED THIS GAME.
I really can't stress that enough. I loved it, loved it, loved it. So why is it so far down this list? Because all the shit that people have talked about it over the years had put me in the weird position that whenever somebody mentions it, I remember having a great time but I also get this literal sour taste at the back of my mouth.
So either people have forced negative thoughts about this game into my mind or thinking of Enter The Matrix brings some hidden case of scurvy out of remission for me.
