Also the API used to work with just the video ID, but now it needs the full GUID (the 2970- prefix in my previous example), so that's a breaking change that probably should have been handled with a versioned API.

First, take a look at https://www.giantbomb.com/videos/feed/hd/3/, let's use Smash Brothers as an example. The link shows https://www.giantbomb.com/shows/super-smash-bros-ultimate/2970-18622/free-video, meaning the GUID is 2970-18622. However, the videos API shows this:

So I can no longer parse the RSS feed and then use its content to get video details.

Just a heads up, it seems something changed recently where the RSS feeds now include the `?api_key=[whatever]` parameter in the URL for every video, so if you were manually appending that value to the link passed to your downloader, like I was with wget, you'll be downloading the "This is an error message!" video.
