We'll probably never know, but, I really would like to know what happened behind the scenes for this; why the date got pushed back, what got cut, etc. - like, if the Bioware team had a Destiny moment of "Oh crap, our original idea didn't work and we've got to meet a launch deadline."
I'm also wondering if, when they knew it was going to come in hot, they focused their QC efforts on the PC and Xbox One versions, because of the existing business relationships between EA and Microsoft (EA Access et al) and left the PS4 port twisting in the wind. (And yes, I know this sounds like a conspiracy theory, but, I don't know how else to explain why the PS4 version is on fire, but the PC/Xbox One versions are okay. And before anybody accuses me of fanboy-ism - I'm a PC gamer. All consoles are crap to me. :D)
One the few times I'm going to quibble publicly with a choice r.e. PLEASE STOP - a lot of the stuff that they're talking about concerning "Please Stop" really only affects them (and people who are like them) because they're downloading everything. It's annoying if I download a game and I need a 10GB patch to download, but it's only one game, one patch. People need to finish games, but as Jeff pointed out, there's a lot of nuance involved, a lot of it intrinsic to project management and large groups of people working together that people have been trying to solve for decades, as well as the fact that the broadband network infrastructure in the United States just sucks.
Companies not putting out copies for review / abusive pre-order practices affects everybody, regardless of how many games you buy or how you interact with games. A big patch means they're at least trying to put a good game out - having copies of games only go to people who have no desire to maintain any sort of objectivity? That's just inherently dishonest.
I'm willing to buy technical limitations. People always underestimate how hard this stuff is. Somebody at Nintendo decided they would make enough money to justify a chopped version.
This certainly looks promising. I've liked the games on the 3DS better than the Wii U this generation, but having everything on a single platform so Nintendo studios don't have to split focus anymore? That should create some great games. And probably another Mario Party, unfortunately. :)
Everything else is speculation until we see and touch final hardware - which won't keep people from playing this video over and over again and making conclusions, I know. :)
No rules. A bunch of the fun is watching them pander to the crowd over it. If you put rules in, neither one will play to their strengths and it risks becoming too serious. This is supposed to be stupid fun.
