@t-dot1992: Why isn't Treasure officially closing their doors? Their last released game came out in 2014.

@ezekiel: I didn't understand the hype behind the first MGS (played it for a little and put it down for a long time). Never liked the Snake character one bit from the beginning (typical badass with no relatable traits, never felt the voice fit his ingame model or portrait either). I agree in that Raiden completely lost all appeal when they made him a robot.

I definitely love Deus Ex 1, but I thought it was a different game. Although scored by Brandon as well!

The thing on the right. Seems like nobody's here (understandably).

Now it may seem easy on the surface, "any FPS game ever" you could even say... but I'm yet to find a similar enough game.

First and foremost, for me Unreal 1 and Unreal 1: Return to Na-Pali are games with unfathomable undefinable ATMOSHPERE (that etherial word again...). The sense of wonder, the sense of a giant serene living world. Even though the visuals are primitive by today's standards, I still can marvel at Unreal vistas for hours. I also feel like the music is, at the very least, 50% of why I love the game so much.

If I tried to summarize what I'm looking for:

  • -Huge environments to roam around
  • -A world you're an alien to
  • -Meditative music (can anybody copy Alexander Brandon's style?)
  • -Preferably, competent gunplay
  • -First-person perspective (?)

I don't feel like that's all, but it's so hard for me to define what makes Unreal so unique. If you LOVE Unreal 1 and its expansion and know a similar game, I'd love to hear from you!!!

For me, MGS2 was the first and it remains my favorite. It is because you play as Raiden that I love it so much.

As for the disappointment - one of the big ones remains the fact the devs no longer use prerendered backgrounds in 3D games. Especially Resident Evil. All RE's without prerenders suck ass, pretty much.

So after Andromeda it's now official that Frostbite (it should've been called FrostBYTE, what were they thinking!?) can't do open-world?

From playing the game I have the impression that DICE has created an ambitious design doc for the game at the pre-production stage, then production has started and then half-way in the development EA for some reason realized that no matter how much money they spend on this game, it won't sell too well. So they moved at least 2/3 of all the devs onto other projects and that 1/3 of the ones who stayed was given a strict deadline.

Appreciate all the replies.

I forgot to mention OBJECTS disappearing LITERALLY 15 feet in front of you (repeatable, have on video. It's their "draw distance", LOL) and inexplicably blurry textures. Famous Frostbite, my ass.

Love the first game though (was it on Unreal?).
