Man, what a fuck up. I do feel sorry for the guy, he finally got his game released but allowed his temper to get a hold of him momentarily and things aren't looking great for his immediate future. However I'm sure as time passes and if he keeps cool, he can make amends with Valve.

But he definitely deserves what he got here. No organisation would want to do business with someone like that and Valve was right to remove the game from the store.

And it was such a minor mistake too that I'm sure could have been fixed quickly. It's a real shame he list his cool over it.

But it's also affecting his team which is the worst part. Hopefully now that he has taken the right step and withdrawn from the company, hopefully Valve will put the game back up for the sake of the other people. I would also consider buying it, just to help them out.

I just finished The Power and the Glory by Graham Greene, a very good novel centered around one of the last surviving priests in Mexico (known to the community as the "whisky priest") on the run from the government during their purging of the Catholic Church in the early 20th century. He has a lot of time for introspection and as he interacts with people of the community - who mostly want nothing to do with him - he tries to figure out if he will be seen as a martyr or as a complete failure of a priest and human being.

Greene also spends a few pages at different points in the story looking from the perspective of some other people he meets as well as developing the fascinating lieutenant character (I wish there was more written about him) who has spent a number of years ridding the country of the Church that he sees as a disease and how his final target is affecting him. This all ties up pretty well from beginning to end, though things are a bit foggy in the beginning meaning the book has a bit of a slow start. But it is just superbly written in general, with some conversations and memorably tense scenes that stand out.

It's a really good book, I'd recommend it to anyone if they can find a copy.

Now I'm starting on The One Hundred Year Old Man Who Climbed Out the Window and Disappeared.

Hey, I was a monthly premium member for a while but got the one year subscription when it was on sale for $35 earlier this year (was it a mother's day sale or something?) and I just noticed that the medal icon next to my display picture is still silver.

I checked my bank account and I haven't been charged monthly or anything so that's cool, but it would be nice to see the gold medal. :P

If it's not too much trouble I would certainly appreciate if this could be fixed. But it's been like this for probably about 6 months now so it's not a big deal if it can't.

Thanks!

I noticed that Dragon Age: Origins was mentioned and remembered that it's free right now on Origin (EA's service) until October 15th. So even if you're not sure about the game, you might as well just sign up for Origin and grab it.

Didn't Jeff play this game on a UPF or as an EB or something? Didn't look like that good of a game to me. And I think even Jeff was saying the game becomes less interesting after the first couple of levels, though I could be wrong on that.

Good for people who really wanted it though.

I just finished reading a book called 'The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night-time' by Mark Haddon, which is told from the perspective of a boy with Asperger's syndrome as he deals with all the drama around him. It's very interesting and is a good insight into the mind of somebody with the illness. A little sad at times, but it's well written and also not very long, only took me about 2 days to get through. Many of you I'm sure would complete it much quicker.

I then started The Power and the Glory by Graham Greene, which centres around the persecution of christians and the clergy in Mexico somewhere during the mid to late 19th century. I have only read about 20 odd pages but it's well written and seems interesting so far.

Training Day - Pretty awesome movie, super tense throughout. A couple of tiny little flaws, such as the purse thing being just a tiny bit too convenient for my liking but it doesn't hurt it too much. It's still a strong story with some superb acting. 9/10
