Wait, in the US do your previous employers have to pay unemployment benefits or are these all "Unjustified Dismissal" and works comp law suits?

In California, it is part of the Payroll Taxes that the employer pays every payday. It's only paid while the employee is employed with that company. Once the employee no longer works for the employer, they stop paying into the pool for the employee.

Fact is not many people really want to work or even know what work is, im going to sound like a dork, but i fear for our generation. No one wants to help themselves anymore and everyone runs away at the slightest bit of criticism. Fucking country is in a bad place if things don't shape up. Its just a shame that good people are taken advantage of like this, unemployment is a joke anymore because they have more claims then they can handle and its easier and quicker to accept most of the claims then wade through all the damn paperwork to sort it out. Hope things get better for your friends, though its hard to find good people in the retail sector.

Agreed. We used to be a hard working country and I know most of us still are, but it seems to just be getting worse and worse. I don't know if it is just generational thing or what, but it's sad.

Maybe it differs by state, but I could have sworn the labor board or unemployment service called the previous employer to find out why they were let go. The reason the employer gives determines if the former employee is actually eligible for unemployment. In California, if you are fired you don't get it. If you are laid off, you do. You also don't get it if you are still employed which of course seems to go against one of the employees in your story.

I am shocked that those weren't turned down. May I ask what state this is? In California, employers pay for unemployment for the employee while they are working there and not something that is paid after the fact like worker's comp which would really screw over hard working mom and pops; not sure if other states work differently.

Cool. Looks like decent chunks of EXP are rewarded ontop of whatever EXP you achieve doing it.

@giantstalker: Ah sorry, I misread "itself" as "yourself". Just me reading what I wanted to read.

Only 4GB left. I am actually excited. Thanks a lot everyone.

You can run dungeons by yourself now!? Or is it only possible as a Disciple of War?

Really glad to hear you no longer have FATE grind as that is what killed me from playing the game and stopping somewhere in 40s when I tried to attain other skills for my main.

Thinking about jumping back into this game and was wondering if you still had to grind Fates in order to level up sub jobs. Last time I played was I think October and that really bummed me out because I was needing to level several other jobs for the abilities.

I am looking through patch notes to see what changed and I saw they added new quests, but not sure if those are endgame or just more additions to remove Fate grinding.

Can anyone elaborate on what they changed with leveling so that I am not inferring incorrectly. Thanks!

EDIT: Hmmm.... went to just patch the game just in case and found that they are doing a free week of play for inactive accounts. Guess I will at least hop in play around.

I want to stress this part since a few people in this thread don't seem to understand it: we do not know what happened yet.

We know that someone was shot to death after raising their arms up and surrendering, while saying they were unarmed. That is the fucked up part. What happened prior to that becomes entirely irrelevant once you look at the aftermath. You do not shoot someone who is giving up and surrendering.

Do you know that as an absolute fact? That is just what someone said and not everything has been brought to light. The officer supposedly had the crap kicked out of him and Brown started walking back towards the cop after the cop drew his gun to make him stay where he was.

No one knows what actually went down except for the 3 people that were involved first hand. 1 being a friend of Brown, the officer, and Brown. Only 2 of them can say what "actually" happened and it will be 'he said, she said' until more concrete evidence shows up for either side.

The man was one of best actor's around. Not many could play as many different roles as Robin. Whenever I thought about who the most versatile actors, it was always him and Woody Harrelson.
