Definitely a transitional year. I won't summarise everything because it's been done fairly well so far. Some downs (Vinny not being on the main podcast now he's moved, Patrick leaving to pursue other stuff) but mostly I've been really enjoying where things are going. Vinny and Alex have the best shows going when they appear so I cannot wait to have GBeast up and running at full capacity. Dan has overcome a few slight blips amongst his cool guy antics and seems to be intent on improving himself, all while vastly contributing to content feeling fresher than it has since we lost Ryan (still miss ya, buddy). Drew has continued to come into his own and be fantastic in everything he appears on. Jason has continued the trend from Drew/Vinny in proving that video guys are the coolest.
Brad has embraced/been consumed by Dota and coarse emails, yet remains adorable. Jeff is now in a relationship and more generally seems to be the happiest I've seen him, which makes me happy in turn. Rorie is still Rorie and he's all the more wonderful for it. There's been a wealth of fantastic guests (including a bunch of Gspot folks such as Danny o'Dwyer, Mary Kish, Peter Brown, and more alongside the likes of Samantha Kalman, (Jason's wife) Lisa Oestreicher, John Drake, Cara Ellison, and so many more that I could continue to name but won't because I'll inevitably miss someone). Also Patrick's solo content seems to be largely continuing despite his move away, so you can follow most of that if you enjoyed it before.
Damn duder, that's spot on!
Enjoy this positive vibe from this post that is also a reasonable and balanced evaluation of the year. Thanks for reminding me that GB had LOADS of cool guests in various places (Samantha Kalman running on stage seemingly to stop Dan beating Alex and then kicking Alex in the stomach while Dan continues to beat him was a highlight). Hope that somebody on the team manages to keep that going now Patrick and Bombin' in the AM is gone.
Once CBSi get it together and order some doors, GBeast is going to achieve it's maximum potential!
You should contact the Velvet Sundown guys and see if they want to do a new scenario where a bunch of people have to disable a bomb or buy a house cleaning robot or something.
Stop an oil rig from exploding or starting a night club with lots of drugs and 50 Cent.
@joshwent: Hadn't seen that thread before, having scanned through it I get what you mean. I was getting a little caught up in the drama/numbers/guilt for laughing at the game.
@joshwent: When a developer is open and honest about why their game is shutting down because of development costs, sales gross, employe lay offs and that they're having to sell their house because they're 5M in debt to the bank, it may be polite to let their venting slide.
Mario Party is beginning to interfere with the social lives of the people playing Mario Party and those around them (e.g. Dan's date).
Surely none of us want this to end in a Gameageddon.
Seeing what Drew and Jason were doing to the stream from the control room was fun, but I like watching people play videogames and enjoying themselves, not slogging through because they have to.
Looking forward to Brad and Dan fighting each other while Drew quietly sneak up from behind, acquiring stars through any means necessary and snatching victory.
Plus Jeff throwing the whole thing into chaos occasionally.
2015 is when GBeast will be completed and achieve it's maximum potential.
Just watched the Random PC Game: Blade Runner videos again and they are fantastic. Lots of Vinny gold in there. Such a shame those saves and that feature were lost in the transition.
