@liquid3600: I openly shouted at my computer when that happened.
Not out of anger obviously, just out of watching someone make a mistake that you can't do anything about. I don't blame Dan for that though, the game does a poor job of communicating things like that.
I haven't watched the video yet but Dan said on the podcast that he hopes to catch a Popplio in the wild. That's not going to happen, Dan. Sorry to disappoint you.
Kind of tired of being told to stop watching, when there are just as many people who think this is the worst game ever made and are just as glued to their screens.
I don't think they mean you. At this point, I look forward to seeing you in the comments as much as the video. You have an oddly deep understanding of these games.
I know people are saying there is a lot of butt hurt in the comments but it appears to be significantly less than in previous years (at least few people being outright assholes).
Witcher 3 was my personal game of the year but it's unsurprising that it wasn't going to break the top 5, surprised it even made the top 10. It's just not the type of game these guys are into (at least not anymore). Having listened to their podcast, their arguments are not unjustified. They didn't like the combat which is a significant part of the game and since the feel of the combat is such a subjective thing, if they couldn't enjoy it, it takes a lot away from the game.
I can see why people would want others to recognize that Witcher 3 is great but it's getting praise across the board all over the internet. I think the issue is that Witcher 2 was such an impressive game that flew under the radar for a lot of people and Witcher fans don't want the same thing to happen to 3. Thankfully, that didn't happen, plenty got a chance to play it.
If Witcher fans(of which I am one) want to keep banging the drum for Witcher 2 not getting enough love, I'd be happy to stand with them because I consider Witcher 2 to be on par with 3 in a completely different way. In other words, go fucking play Witcher 2.
Always enjoyed listening to the deliberations though. They are always more about passion for games rather than some objective list and that makes them entertaining. Looking around the staff and user top ten lists, there is so much variation that it makes me even sadder that I have less time to play games.
