I've never understood the point of Vignetting other than to obscure parts of the screen. Most of the time, it's just annoying but sometimes it actually hurts my eyes. This was most recently a problem in Dishonored 2 where I had to spend several hours before I could deal with it. My eyes felt like they were swimming. The usual trick of increasing FOV didn't help either.

Other than that, I'm not a fan of motion blur but it never really affects the way I play, it just looks bad. All the other stuff up there I like a lot.

Usually, I try to keep as many things on as possible in order to see the game the way the developers intended.

I enjoyed the first Darksiders more than the second but I did play them almost exactly seven years apart from each other. I know my tastes and expectations for games have changed since then so that probably contributed heavily into my disappointment with Darksiders 2.

With that out of the way, my big problem with Darksiders 2 was the lack of depth to any of it's systems or mechanics. The combat was shallow, the puzzles were easy and the RPG elements were pretty standard. I found the whole game to be pretty bland, story included.

That said, I'm still intrigued by the notion of a third Darksiders. Luckily, from looking at reviews, my opinions on the second game aren't unique and Gunfire Games is made up of former Vigil Games employees so they're probably already know all this.

I thought Vanquish was neat but nowhere near the levels of "oh MAN Vanquish!!!" excitement I see associated with it. Parts of that game, despite the style, were kinda clunky.

Part of the reason why I included the 'Bros' in the title. The response to the game is a little hyperbolic. I do love it but it's not without faults.

I didn't think they would do it but it looks like they are!

Edit: In other positive news, Bayonetta ended up second on the Steam Charts after Battlegrounds

Edit part 2: The neogaf thread points to the PlatinumGames youtube account which has put up 5 videos of Bayonetta that repeat 3 times each. This either means Bayonetta 3, Bayonetta 5, Bayonetta 8 or Bayonetta 15

Edit part 3: Sega tweet heavily hints at Vanquish

Edit part 4: Second sega tweet.

Having just rewatched 7 with the commentary, I'd say that is my favourite followed by 5. Tokyo Drift has not aged nearly as well as I had expected it to and the first two are pretty boring. I was surprised by how much I enjoyed 4 considering it was possibly my least favourite. 6 is a little bloated for me but it is definitely an easy 3rd best movie. Perhaps it was watching it with the crew but I've gained a little more respect for these movies.

I've put just over 30 hours into the game and I'm going to stop and come back to it in another 6 months or so. As someone who considers Mass Effect 2 to be my favorite game of all time and the reason I became a game designer, this is severely disappointing. The only reason I stuck with it for so long was the combat.

I've worked out a route through the game that will allow me to experience the good parts of it but I want to start again fresh because I'm kinda burnt out on it right now. 30 hours in and I don't feel like I've experienced much, just spent time doing uninteresting quests. The squad don't really have much of a personality except Jaal but that could be due to him being a new species.

While other Bioware games have had their flaws, this game problems stem from fundamental design choices. That combined with all the other smaller problems just makes the whole thing disappointing.

How well did Bayonetta 2 do in terms of sales? I'd like it to be a third game but that doesn't seem likely. I'd more than happily take a PC port of either of the first two games though.

I hope this isn't all an April Fools day joke. That would be kinda shitty.

I have 160gb iPod Classic that I take good care of as it has been discontinued. If they had a newer model with similar capacity, I'd replace it instantly but everyone is clearly moving in a streaming direction.

I still like MP3s GODDAMIT

I am extremely excited but nothing I've seen has contributed to that excitement, it's all come from my love of the original trilogy. I'm cautiously optimistic though.
