Gaming systems I've owned over the years

List items

  • I was like the last kid in my neighborhood/family to get one of these back in the day as my parents were waiting for it to hit $149. Lots of fond memories with this one!

  • There was a "crash" in the gaming industry? I was too busy playing C64 to notice.

  • Still remember getting this on Christmas along with Zelda, SMB, Pinball, Rush N Attack, and Punchout. Awesome system, and I even had the first issue of Nintendo Power, which I wound up subscribing to.

  • My best friend's neighbor owned a Woolworths store, and he was selling these out of his house for $75, which was below what the stores wanted - if you could find one. Tetris was burned in our brains!

  • Bought the original Altered Beast pack-in system for $189. Awesome system, that was leaps and bounds better than NES graphically.

  • I was fortunate to be a part of a test group on Bonk's Adventure well before it released. Got to play the game, and give my thoughts on it, as well as which character design I liked best. Another awesome system, and at this point I was getting addicted to the hobby.

  • Actually I owned the Super Famicom, and got it at the Japanese launch. I had the system, and finished all of Mario World months before it hit the US. Cost me $500.

  • I didn't actually own the system, but I had the Powerbase converter for the Genesis which let you play MS games. Shinobi, Phantasy Star, and Rastan were the only games I owned for it.

  • I'm using this pic, cause there isn't one for the Sega Nomad, which was a handheld Genesis that ate batteries like no tomorrow.

  • Always wanted one, and finally bought one for $400. Got the "Gold" system that came with two controllers, Magician Lord, and Fatal Fury. Didn't own too many games for it because they were super expensive. I paid over $200 each for Samurai Shodown and Art of Fighting 2. Wish I could go back in time and slap myself!

  • Had both the original launch unit and the sp model. Castlevanias, Advance Wars, Metroids, Fire Emblem, and the Golden Sun games rocked.

  • Bought this for $400 at the suprise launch, along with Daytona USA (it came with Virtua Fighter). I then watched Playstation kick the crap out of it. I was dedicated though, and stuck with it for years. Panzer Dragoon Saga? Shining Force 3? House of the Dead? Radiant Silvergun? I could've owned all of them, but dummy me put them back on the shelf. If only I knew...

  • I had mine modded to play imports.

  • Had a good time with mine, but didn't buy it until Ocarina was hitting.

  • 9/9/99 was by far the best launch I'd ever experienced.

  • My wife bought me this when the Gran Turismo bundle released. Greatest system of all time, and the number of games is staggering when you count imports.

  • I still take this system on every vacation we go to. Love the portability, plus I got a free carrying case when I bought it.

  • Impressive power, and my first real HD gaming experience. I still remember seeing DOA3 in it's 480p glory when we got our first HDTV, and going bananas.

  • Between Phat model, Lites, broken hinge, and DSi we must've bought five of these by now.

  • This system is mind blowing at times. Despite getting a bum rap, the PSP blows me away with it's power. Soul Calibur, Motorstorm, Burnout, Tekken, etc are amazing.

  • My first ever campout for a system, and I almost made enough on my second ebayed unit to pay for mine. Too bad the hardware was such crap, and I'm now on my third unit.

  • I'm enjoying this system more and more. Mario Galaxy 2 is far and away the best game for Wii.

  • Camped a full 36hrs for this. Still have my original 60GB launch unit, and love it! Free online rocks!!
