Regarding DOOM Eternal multiplayer stuff: Mike was talking about Battlemode, which is the 2v1 mode that should still be available on launch. The mode that is being added post-launch is Invasion, which allows you to spawn in as a demon in another player's campaign, like @danryckert was asking.
Yo this looks cool as hell, really love the art. Seems like something that'll look gorgeous on my OLED. Looked it up and kinda bummed to see that it doesn't have HDR support (yet, at least), it's kinda begging for it.
Yeah it is, it's done by 2 Mello, who I heard about from Waypoint, since he's a friend of the site and has done some music for their podcasts. He also made an album based on Jet Set Radio that I know people like a lot.
@jeff Here's a couple useful things the game doesn't explain at all right now:
1. If you go to a bus stop while on foot there's fast travel to different parts of the map.
2. If you hit LB while on foot you go into a mode that lets you place different props into the world and also move around certain objects (like tables and stuff). It's a nice tool to let you set up a line of tricks or to let you ramp up to a rail that's normally too high and stuff like that.
I actually played through this whole game and generally enjoyed it. I have a soft spot for it though, since it's one of the very few games developed in my home state of Iowa. Still, getting to use a machine gun to mow down guys during the Civil War is hilarious fun. I always thought it was a shame they didn't get to experience one of the sections where they hand you a future weapon in this QL.
