I'm fairly certain I bought Horse Armor in Oblivion.

It's understandable because of the image Nintendo maintains as an alternative to Disney as a leader of family friendly fun. I just hope that if things do not go well in Ukraine, that it doesn't spell doom to what I'm sure is a lovingly redone classic. Especially for the people that worked on it. This whole situation with Russia is lose-lose-lose all the way around.

I'm happy to admit that to clear my backlogs I've begun playing games on Easy or Story difficulty. The weird part? I'm having more fun than I used to.

@csl316: Unfortunately, I have a hard time sharing that excitement. While I do trust Jeff, of course he's going to put out a positive sounding statement when a big change like this happens. Especially if he's staying with the site. You don't put out a doom and gloom press release if you don't want your user base to bounce entirely.

And with a second kid on the way, this would be a terrible time to jump off a guaranteed paycheck. I dunno. I just have a bad feeling about the whole thing, I guess.

It likely doesn't even matter. These types of deals have "talent exclusivity" contracts which likely means Jeff can't bounce even if he wants to.

Edit: This actually may be why those 3 bounced at once. No one wanted to stay on but Jeff agreed to stay if RV allowed those guys to split. I can't know for sure, but I've signed similar contracts during mergers where I've been the head on a project and didn't really want to work for the new company, but I kind of had to anyway. These guys are blood, I can totally see him making that sacrifice for that gang.

This is forcing me to think about what I want Giant Bomb to be at this point and....I kind of don't have a clue?

Honestly I don't get the sense that the Wiki is very important to many people. I really wonder if they drop it or sell the data / assets off and focus more on video.

I wish I could drink the koolaid some of you are regarding the future of the site, but I just don't see it. After watching the video of the podcast, it is pretty clear to me that nobody wanted this and the site is being forced in a new direction.

Like I said earlier, the fact that 13 years ago his entire friend group uprooted their lives to make GB a reality and now are not willing to do it again is totally fair for them to say, "No, I'm not interested." Forced or not, you have to admire tenacity when you see it on Jeff's part to not just abandon ship.

I'll add that I think it's great that no bridges were burned also. It's always a shame to see finger-pointing when a band breaks up. This was, seemingly, a crossroads where a few parties said, "Yep, I don't think that's for me" instead of something more heavy-handed and dire like a scandal or something (like how GB was founded).

I mean more power to Jeff I guess but maybe he's kidding himself. I don't see a future for this website past this.

People said that about GB 13 years ago when I started following the site after Gamespot.

It's easy to doubt him, but Jeff has shown time and again that he is a forward thinker and coupled with his personality-driven team building, I think he will make the right choices but only time will tell if they're the ones people care about.
