Tick throws are practically essential for characters like da 'Gief. A simple tactic like a blocked low jab, very slight pause into SPD is something that works wonders and is part of playing him. Same with normal throws too. What are they complaining about anyway? They can imploy these tactics too!
As you may know, last year I bought a Japanese silver PS2 that is also the same redesign as yours. I had no idea that new redesign made it over here. Your reason for getting a new PS2 is a good one. That is the same reason I still use my PS2s fairly regularly even though I could play those games on my PS3.
Kou_Leifoh - Personally, I think Super Turbo HD Remix is the best of the series, but to each his own.

lordofultima - I like EX, but I still think it is kinda meh. Not a huge fan of it, but I don't hate on it either.
Linkyshinks - I would say a few are considered inferior, but only if you are really picky. I certainly won't rule out owning a DC at some point, but it is low on my list of collecting priorities. Even if I obtain one, I'd probably stick to more of the original exclusives rather than double up on games that aren't anywhere near significantly better, if at all. I used to own that GBA version of A3, but it wasn't very good, so I have no plans of re-acquiring it.
