Technoblade: Minecraft YouTuber dies from cancer aged 23

YouTuber for Minecraft Technoblade has died aged 23. His family have confirmed in an emotional farewell video made on his behalf.
The video, which was titled "solong geeks", was posted to his 10 million followers and included his father's words, which he described as "the best kid anyone could ever ask for".
The US internet sensation gained fame livestreaming and posting clips of himself playing the sandbox video game.
Technoblade announced to his fans last year that he had been diagnosed with cancer.
The father of his son read his farewell message just hours before his death. It began with "Hello everyone, Technoblade here." This is what you should be seeing. I am dead."
He then admitted that his real name was Alex. He recalled the time he tricked viewers into believing his name was Dave.
"Thank you all for supporting my work over the years," he continued. "If I had another hundred lives I'm pretty sure I'd choose to be Technoblade each time because those were the most joyful years of my life."
The online star who took home Minecraft tournaments, and had thousands of fans talking about him in a funny way while playing the game, explained in a February fundraising video that he had received chemotherapy, radiation therapy, and a limb rescue operation following the development of an infected tumor that was painful.
Sarcoma, which is a rare form of bone and soft tissue cancer is the reason for the death of his father.
He disclosed his cancer diagnosis in August 2021, explaining that he initially thought the pain he was feeling was a result of an injury to the muscles from repetitive stress due to excessive gaming. After his arm became swollen it was taken to the hospital. He was diagnosed with cancer.
There isn't much information about Technoblade who kept his identity concealed until the end. However, his online avatar was a picture a crown pig.
His YouTube channel has 10.8 million subscribers. His bio says: "I play too many video games. While I'm not the greatest, I do have hot elbows..

'Strategizing in heaven'
Following the announcement of his death his gamers, fans and YouTubers paid tribute online.
"I'll never forget the day I met Technoblade," recalled J Schlatt. "I quit my job in the morning to join him in a Minecraft tournament. I barely knew how to play... and the dude was able to carry us to win the entire event.
"Rest in peace, big guy. You'll be a legend for the rest of your life.

YouTuber Captain Puffy Captain Puffy, also known as Cara, tweeted: "Rest In Peace Technoblade. He always treated me with pure kindness. I was never excluded from anything." He could not have been a kinder person!"
She added: "Thank you for everything you've done to help this community. It won't be the same without you."
Tommy Innit said: "Technoblade is a legend. I cannot express how grateful I am to have been in his life from being a huge fan to being one of his closest friends. I am sure he is working in heaven to overcome God ...".
"I've been watching Technoblade's videos for the last hour," added Ludwig Ahgren. "He was so funny and humble in the most difficult of circumstances. He will always be a role model to me."
Quackity also expressed his gratitude on his blog Quackity also expressed his gratitude online, writing: "I had to have the opportunity to express my gratitude for Technoblade not only for his huge impact on the world but also for his incredible humour, even in the darkest times." I will be sad to lose him."

Technoblade's father thanked fans during the video of his farewell, noting: "You meant a lot to him."
He explained that a percentage of online purchases for the merchandise of his son would now go towards charity.
The video concluded with a letter from his family. It read: "We, Technoblade, wanted you all to know how much he loved and respected his colleagues and his fans."
"From Technoblade's very first days on the internet, he was constantly figuring out ways to delight and reward his audience by giving away prizes online as well as encouraging good sportsmanship and most of all sharing his Minecraft adventures for entertainment and laughs.
"Even after his eventual success he managed to keep his good-natured humility, competing with a charming balance of confidence and self-deprecating humor."
Minecraft lets users create their very own virtual world by digging holes and collecting blocks.
Recent updates to the game have been utilized to aid children in exploring and develop their professional skills and expertise and to discover solutions to real world problems like flooding.
Ted Nevison described Technoblade as being "effortlessly funny" and "endlessly talented". He said, "Gone too quickly."
Bad Boy Halo also paid tribute, saying: "Words can't express how much you will be missed. The lives you have touched and the impact you had on their lives will be remembered forever.
Slimecicle said Technoblade's "personality and sense of humour were an inspiration to me and countless others."
"Thanks for all you did to make this the world a better place You will always be a legend."
