I actually saw a lot of comments on various The Show forums/boards where people were praising the Moments being quickly ended and back into the menus. I assume those are the folks who grind them for Diamond Dynasty?

I dunno if I agree with your view entirely (but I get it). For sure DD is a grind that seems ridiculous - but I guess that’s what all those “ultimate team” modes are anymore. Grind for card packs, get new players, grind for more, level them up, etc. It’s definitely not my cup of tea, but those who love it really seem to love it.

RTTS seems fine to me. The whole cap of 50 for the ratings kinda sucks and shouldn’t be there. But the slow grind to improve stats seems to fit the minor leaguer thing earning their way to the bigs. Players talk about the grind all the time, so I don’t mind that so much. But the diamond equipment grinding needed to reach high ratings is pretty damn lame.

For me though, franchise is where it’s at. This is where you get those moments. I definitely go games where I can barely seem to get a couple hits, but I also have those games where my lineup breaks out big time. I’ve had no hitters into the 9th and the stress of each pitch after about the seventh inning. I’ve had walk off home runs belted deep into the night. I’ve had players with slow starts slowly build up their stats to be near league leaders by mid season. Having an active hand in the minor league rosters is a blast, watching players stats and growth and then moving players up or down to reward them.

There’s a few things I wish were different for sure. But I still think, for me in franchise mode anyway, the baseball is still really good.

I’ve logged about 60 hours so far in this game and generally enjoy it. The production rate cuts listed don’t really impact me too much. There are tons of ways to find scrap and ammo in this game - these won’t really bother me much. The power cores are more rare, but I can’t say I’ve had much trouble finding enough to keep my power armor going. Although admittedly, I don’t wear it all the time, just when I think I’ll need some extra oomph on a mission or exploration run.

The enemy spawn this is kind of a double edged sword. I totally get the farming aspect being impacted but at the same time, I hate when I clear an area out of enemies, then go back to read lore stuff in computers or notes, etc and then someone else comes near the area and all those enemies respawn and start attacking me as I’m “off screen”.

It’ll be interesting to see where this game goes over the coming months.

You folks decrying the removal of the bust size slider are the exact reasons people who look from the outside stereotypically identify gamers as perverted nerds who get hard-ons over virtual half naked females.

Of course, most of you won't get that because you're framing your argument as an artistic or free choice one. It's also laughable at how many times I hear "It's not really that big of a deal, and I'm not one of THOSE kind of guys" comments quickly followed by a one track post about the unfairness of not being able to maximize the size of virtual boobs.

Just bring on the game and let me put my focus into all of the stuff that comes AFTER I create my character.

Thanks everyone. I'm still in the first town. I've completed the two star quests there with the Guildmarm. Since then I've been rerunning a couple hunts to upgrade my armor/weapons.

Hey guys! I'm in my fourth attempt at trying the MH series and I think I've finally found an iteration that has leveled the learning curve just enough to drag me in.

I tried searching the forum and didn't see anything, so if there is something, I apologize.

Anywho - At what point does the ability to gain additional Palicos come up? I've got my starter cruising along and am loving the help. Just curious at what point I'll get that ability to expand the team.

Thanks!

I have owned MH3U since it came out, but I struggled to get into it. After playing MH4 and really getting a better understanding and enjoying it, I went back to 3 and now it makes a lot more sense and I'm having much more fun with it than I had the first time around.

But yes, the underwater stuff sucks. I would say get 4 first and play the heck out of it. If you want more, 3 is a good option. Really the only reason I even went back to it now is because I already had it.

Shield and sword so far. I'm a complete noob and this gives me the best balance of speed and attack. Once I get more comfortable with the systems and camera controls (no new 3ds for me) I would like to try out some of the ranged weapons.

Played MH on PSP years ago for about 6 hours... didn't pull me in. Played MH3U on the WiiU for about 10 hours... didn't pull me in.

However, MH4 has got it's claws in me deep! I'm about 10 hours in and loving it. I think the small changes they made to accessibility have made a world of difference.

I'm a complete and utter newbie though, so if I do any multiplayer, take it easy on me! :-P
