I mean, fuck, even the Neogaf thread on DMC is more fucking civil than this.

to be honest, most of what i see on neogaf is actually surprisingly damn civil and level-headed, kinda more what i expect this community to be like on a whole. maybe it's just the cynical natures of the bombcrew catching on us, but for all that's good about the group here there's almost equally as much that's pretty fucking terrible.

in the end, i respect civil discussion of what amounts to one man's opinion, but the (admittedly exaggerated) vitriol and bile and fucking account cancellations is far, far too much. i don't know if this is something to laugh at really as all i've seen are good things from them, but we could really learn from neogaf's example.

Neogaf is so  >>>>>>>>> any other big game site for discussion

This isnt new but people don't like to admit it

Yeh, guns aren't to blame we need tons more of 'em.

But those virtual guns in videogames? Oh boy, they're evil.

RIght, schools full of 1. tiny kids that don't know what they're doing/the dangers of guns and may come across one by accident 2. older kids that are fucking assholes and want to threaten someone/are going through shitty lives and let things spiral out of control in their heads (as teenagers do) and have the capability to take a gun (or are old enough to own one)3. teach/visitors/general outsiders Are the perfect places for concealed weapons. No added danger in that at all, no need to be concerned. Concealed guns in schools you say? Why not! Law passed!

If a gun is found by a child, someone already messed up. I'm not sure concealed carry impacts this scenario.

If you are worried about older kids taking someones gun, then you should probably be in favor of concealed carry as it conceals the weapon. Also, older kids in high school wouldn't be able to legally carry a concealed weapon in high school.

Not sure what you mean by "teach/visitors/general outsiders", but if you are worried about people bringing a concealed gun in to do bad things, I doubt the law has much impact on that as they could have done that before too.

"If a gun is found by a child, someone already messed up" Best solution: don't allow guns in schools, especially 'concealed' guns that go unaccounted for. Tell me how many people get killed because someone with a concealed weapon misplaces their gun during their carry. More people than have been or will ever be killed by someone who doesn't carry a gun misplacing it (because they have no gun to misplace!)

Tell me how many people steal someone's legally concealed weapon off their person and use it to kill others. More people than have stolen or ever will steal guns off someone who doesn't carry a gun (because they don't have one to steal!)

Tell me how many kids were killed in a gun free zone today. I'm not stupid, I don't expect banning guns to stop all gun related crimes!!

Your "best solution" is a totally ineffectual non-solution. How? you haven't explained a single thing here!

Worst thing to do right now: Allow concealed guns in schools!

" allowing concealed pistols in schools and other places".....

But if those 8-year-old children would've been armed - because freedom! - they could've stopped the shooter. /NRA

But if you don't allow concealed carry people won't go into schools and shoot them up! /idiots

But having guns around at places like schools is guaranteed to improve everything!

But making laws to keep them out of schools is sure to prevent people shooting up schools!

But why make it even worse?

How does allowing concealed carry make it worse, exactly? Is a criminal not going to hide his gun because there is a law saying he can't tuck it in his pocket?

No, but allowing to legally carry guns around at places where immature kids are bound to have heated arguments etc. is beyond stupid.

Um, the kids can't carry the guns.
