Where do I start?
I remember playing a taxi-driving game on a Sinclair with a cassette drive when I was about 5. I played (crashed) flight simulators on a Commodore 64. I wanted a Dragon's Lair cabinet more than anything in life. I wore out my Intellivision I, II, and then III, playing everything from B-17 Bomber to Treasures of Tarmin. I struggled through the Quest of the Avatar, never really figuring out those moongates. Thankfully, the NES let me beat Mike Tyson, Bionic Commando, and Contra without losing a life. Blast Processing gave me Sonic, Strider, and NHL 94. My Pentium 90Mhz PC introduced me to Wing Commander, Doom II, and Civilization. I took a leave from Nintendo during the Everything-64 days, but I reconnected to my youth through Final Fantasy VII, Metal Gear Solid, and Resident Evil 2... when I wasn't farming Mephisto in Diablo II. Wind Waker was brililant. So was Shadow of the Colossus and Katamari Damacy. Somewhere in there were Half-Life and its sequels, sleepless nights of Team Fortress and Counterstrike. Planescape: Torment should be remade. Oblivion isn't as good as Morrowind. KOTOR was the best Star Wars game ever made. I could go on.
Today, if it can be played on a 360, PS3, or PC, I've likely been playing it. I'm looking at you, Mass Effect, Rock Band, GTAIV, and Forza. So when I'm taking a break from Starcraft 2 or Halo: Reach or Fallout 3, I might write a little here and there on Giant Bomb.
Cheers to you all.
