My mother's favorite scene in all of video games is that j-pop scene.

I agree with everything you said of it and think of the times I've sat nearby when she's replayed the game and that scene with something almost disdainful even though I greatly love that my mother likes JRPGs.

I played through this game on the PC over the course of two days in 2005. Best damn two days of my teenage years.

My favorite scene in this, bar none, was when The Rock and Jason Statham re-enacted scenes from Hell in the Pacific set during the American war of independence for whatever reason.

EDIT: Ranking of the Furious: 5>6>3>2>8>7>1>4. The only ones I wouldn't rewatch in a heartbeat are 1 & 4, both being fairly boring and unremarkable nonsense rather than the remarkably nonsensical non-stop action of the other parts.
