E3 2012 Top 10 Most Anticipated Titles

Well this is a couple days late, but now that E3 2012 is officially over, Here are the top 10 games that impressed me most, and left me wanting more.

List items

  • Very easily my most anticipated game. It has basically everything I crave... Cyberpunk, stealth aspects, great looking character models, believable voice acting, well done combat, and a great dark atmospheric tone. Quite simply, this looks like it could be one of the best games to come out in the past 5 years. Let's hope it lives up to my expectations.

  • Ah yes, what can I say about Dishonored? It seems totally badass, and it's exactly the kind of game I can get into. All of the different options you get in gameplay make it seem pretty awesome. Oh, and you can possess creatures to sneak around the levels, just like in another one of my favorite games... probably one of the most underrated Gamecube titles, Geist.<br><br>

Aside from that, it also reminds me a lot of the original Deus Ex, and for good reason since a lot of the same developers are working on it.<br>

    Color me excited, for sure.

  • Oh, The Last of Us. I'm not really sure what to think about this game. It's one of those moments where you see the game demo, and you're not really sure what part of the gameplay is dynamic, and what part is scripted. Apparently there's tons of different choices you can make in the game, but I'm still kind of skeptical as to how they're being done.<br><br>

As skeptical as I am, I'm still really excited to get my hands on it and play it. Even if it's made where there's tons of optional scripted events, as opposed to Dynamic AI, I love the Uncharted games, and I can still totally get behind a heavily scripted game, especially if the characters and story are as good as this seems to be.

  • I'm fairly excited for Beyond: Two Souls. Maybe not quite as excited as I was from the initial reveal at Sony's press conference, but I still think the game looks great. Even if it's just Heavy Rain with better acting, I'm sold. Hopefully the story is interesting, though. Either way, this seems like a game I'd definitely play.

  • Another game I'd definitely play is Hitman: Absolution. I was sold on this game before even seeing any gameplay, honestly. All they had to do was announce a Hitman game, and I was just like "okay, yup, buying that"<br> <br>

However, seeing it in action at E3 this year, It's good to know that it still looks like a Hitman game. You might think that's a bad thing, but I'm pretty glad they didn't change the formula at all. I wouldn't want many new mechanics added to Hitman, the older games still hold up remarkably well, so a new game with new missions is really the most I could ask for, and the best thing they could do with the series. This is definitely one to buy.

  • I've never played an X-Com game before, but suffice it to say... seeing XCOM: Enemy Unknown at E3 this year, it made me want to go back and play through all of the classic games.<br><br>

I've always liked Turn-based strategy games more then RTS, and the stuff that they're doing with the camera in this game is pretty remarkable... and I'm kind of surprised it took somebody this long to think of that.<br><br>

Firaxis games always makes quality products, I'm a big fan of their previous work, so I'm pretty confident that this will be just as amazing. Either way, it seems like something I'd definitely play.

  • Platinum games' latest game is a Wii U title, and it's so far the biggest argument for me wanting a Wii U.<br>

I'm a fan of a lot of crazy Japanese stuff, and there's tons of it in this game. Also, since this is from the director of Okami, I'm fairly sure it's going to be great.<br>

If I ever get a Wii U, this will definitely be one of the first games I pick up for it.

  • The new setting is pretty awesome looking, and the Assassin's Creed games never fail to be fun, and now we can fight those damn redcoats!<br><br>

It should also be said that just watching this game in action makes me want to go back and finish Assassin's Creed: Brotherhood, so they must be doing something right.

  • I really enjoyed Far Cry 2, flawed as it was. Who knows how this new installment will turn out, but it's already looking better than the previous installment. The main villain seems to be really well done, and the story seems really interesting, as little of it as I actually know about.<br><br>

Still, even if it ends up being just another sub-par entry in the series, that's still something I'd be interested in playing.

  • It's kind of impossible to not put this game on my list, right? Even though the bit they showed us looked pretty heavily scripted, the graphics just look really incredible, pretty much the most gorgeous game I've ever seen. Even if it does just turn out to be "Uncharted, but with Storm Troopers," that's still a game I'd want to play.<br><br>

I can't get too excited since they only showed a little bit, but the parts they did show looked good enough to just barely land it on my top 10.
