I tried two different routes:

  1. Eel River Converter Station
  2. High-voltage direct current
  3. Alternating current
  4. Nikola Tesla
  5. Nikola Tesla in popular culture
  6. The Order: 1886
  7. Giant Bomb
  1. Eel River Converter Station
  2. Eel River Crossing, New Brunswick
  3. Canada
  4. Montreal
  5. Ubisoft Montreal
  6. Watch Dogs
  7. Giant Bomb

I haven't gotten very far into Syndicate but I liked Rogue a lot. It connects III, Black Flag and Unity, featuring characters from all of them. It's effectively half an AC story as it has 6 sequences where all the others (to my memory) have had 12. It still has a lot of side stuff though, so you can extend the experience as much as you feel like. It is very familiar in terms of mechanics, the new gimmick is an air rifle which is very similar to the blowpipe from Black Flag, so it might be good to play it before you retrain your brain for Syndicate's new mechanics.

Yes, it makes perfect sense from a narrative standpoint and yes, it is a little sexist. Those are two different discussions.

Also keep in mind that, given there are way worse examples of sexism in games, the fact that XCOM 2 is selected as a target of this kind of criticism is only evidence that a lot of people really love this series and hold it to a high standard. That's something all fans of these games should welcome, whether they are grossed out or not.

To me its clear, opinions for anything remotely complicated(which almost everything in the real world is) must come from technical people...

You're not (to my understanding) a journalist or media theorist, yet you feel entitled to an opinion on this highly complex subject. Uninformed opinions are annoying to the informed, but the solution is education, not mass censorship or oligarchy.

@tuxfool: No idea if you care, but English is in fact the most spoken language in the world, though Mandarin and Spanish are both ahead in number of native speakers. In other words, lots of people speak English as a secondary language. It's just a matter of phrasing really, but due to a gypsy curse I need to correct an innocent person every day or my head will explode.

@robsamuel: Hmmm, it is definitely German though. If Jason said it wasn't that sort of contrasts with his podcast introduction where he said it was "very German." Nevertheless, thank you for your insight into this vast enigma.

@ripelivejam: @bweadcrwumbs: He did tell them it was pronounced A-striker, the clip is in this compilation. I think the guys asked if it was pronounced 'Ostreicher', which I would say is closer than A-striker, and he corrected them.

Started listening and hearing the A-Striker thing again reminded me to ask you guys: has there ever been any clarification on why Jason pronounces it that way? It is certainly not how the German 'Österreicher' is pronounced, and it seems like a safe bet that the 'oe' represents 'ö.' In my head I have a whole theory on how the misconception could have arisen, but before I lose myself to unhealthy speculation, is there a simple explaination to all this that I've missed? Is there another thread about it? I'm reluctant to ask Jason directly as I can totally see this being a topic he gets pestered about.

On topic, thank you so much for these compilations!

Isn't it interesting how the data says the vast majority of players choose a male PC given the option, but in threads like these you get mostly females? It seems the majority of players who care about character creation play female characters. Makes you wonder what the percentages would look like if female was the default quick play option.
